Please vote yea or nay on this dress.

I was thrilled with this dress when I bought it. I took a photo to post and the love affair was over. I like it from the side but it looks like a house from the front. It is flowy and has a lot of movement when I walk. It has seaming under the bust and I thought a pretty neckline. Is it the length? Is it just me? It is probably on the way to the goodwill, but I am sad about it. What do you guys think? and please be blunt.

It looks like it is cut awkwardly in many places, sleeves, neckline, waist,etc. I don't think the proportions created by the cut are doing you any justice. I would woefully say goodbye, but know there are much better options out there for you and you will find them!

Annette, I like the dress! It sound like seeing it in motion would give a better impression than a still photo? I'd wear it with nude wedges or coral flats, and add knee high boots and a denim jacket when the weather cooled. I vote keep :).

I can see what you see but only because I have a similarly cut dress . . . but many have said they really like it on me, so maybe you and I are being too hyper critical of our own hips? I debated tossing my dress but have held on. I'm trying to put my finger on it. Perhaps it's the exaggerated a-line that the hem finishes at? So, perhaps in motion makes all the difference in such a case.

I don't see anything glaringly wrong with it. Its flowy from the side but
stands away at front? Can the fullness be tamed with a blazer or cardigan?
Do you have pins or paper clips or binder clips? Pin it shorter and see
what happens. Or maybe this style on you needs to be longer to feel
more graceful to you and there may not be enough of a hem to test that out.

I don't think the style is unflattering and all but I am not 100% sure about the color on you. It is hard to tell without seeing a full photo. The key to really making it work may be in the styling. Perhaps add a bit of edge to offset the sweetness of the fabric and pattern. A denim jacket is a great idea...a nude heel to keep the long legline...and maybe just the right necklace to bring your best color close to your face?

I certainly don't think it looks bad, but the floral and the cut could verge on a little dated or matronly. Maybe add some edge, like a denim or light colored leather jacket? It depends on your personal style though too, does this fit in with your taste?

I'd like this with the red shoes. Add a belt and a denim jacket and it's a fun outfit!

I find the floral pattern dated--you can find a more modern pattern that will look great!

I wish we could see it with your face/hair! The colors look good with your skin, in a low-contrast sort of way. A denim jacket might conceal any minor fit issues. I'm drawn to these florals, too (I'm a child of the 80s), but they can come off matronly if the wearer is not in her 20s. I think the overall shape of it looks good on your figure. But you can probably wear anything!

It's OK. I like lynne's styling suggestions so I wouldn't toss it randomly. The colors are easily workable with lots of things. Blazer? Cardi? On it's own a bit bland perhaps, But in Love with the red trim sandals.

What Kyle said! I think it's all in the styling. Add a bit of an edge and I think you will be tight on trend. It's a pretty dress and pattern and the colors are subtle enough to play with.

I don't think the dress is unflattering, but I think without some styling it looks dated (says 90's to me). I like the suggestions to try a leather or denim jacket.

I would keep playing with it before tossing.

I think it needs to be shorter. Or longer. Either or. Probably easier to go shorter, it needs to be sassier. Then, add some tough accessories to reduce the sweetness of the floral. Leather does this as would something like a gladiator type sandal. I also see some bangles here, stacked, as a way to toughen it up. If you mix sweet florals with toughness you move into ironic territory which to my eye is more fashionable than plain florals (unless you're really young and girly or devoted to a Miss Marple matron style).

I like it! The flowers and colors are pretty and the fit looks fine. If it's comfortable on you, I don't think you should give it away so easily.Try styling it in different ways, as others have suggested!
