I read all kinds of material about identifying your style and how that influences your shopping and/or purging. Most concentrate on the What's and easily lead to the typical MustHaves lists. I love Sal of Already Pretty's work because it insists on the Why's and, most important to me, the importance of understanding your current style. I finally understand why I don't like the mix and match capsule wardrobes - get dozens of outfits from just these few pieces! It's because I prefer wearing the same GoTo outfits over and over. But why can't I figure out what my Favorite pieces are? Because I add so many new (to me) things continually, exploring trends, that I keep coming up with new favorite outfits - from new favorite items. But what happened to the recent favorite outfits? Forgotten. If I *want* to have familiar favorite outfits that get reworn time and again, then I *can't* crowd them out continually with newly made favorite outfits. New items are defeating my main purpose in wardrobe and style! So I'm done shopping.
