After the tragedy in Bangalore, there's been a lot of talk about how to buy clothing "ethically". I really liked Jess's post about how it's a nuanced problem, and not as simple as merely shunning sweatshops.

Unrelated to this week's Lovely Links ...

Inge, is there an outlet for book recommendations? For folks wanting to read more about sweatshop labour, I really liked Factory Girls, but it's a (pretty hefty) book and didn't seem suitable for the Lovely Links feature.

I loved this article by Lauren Slater in the April Oprah magazine. She wrote about how she used fashion and beauty to deal with her depression. It is very moving and profound. Favorite quote:
