Wow, Karie:-)) I'll take the German chocolate bubble dress, please. Of course, no guarantees that I'll be decently covered after wearing that dress for a while, I'm going to be SO tempted to nibble as the day progresses...

An interview with the "Darfur Sartorialist," street style non-professional photographer. At this link are links to a slideshow and his site, which has lots more pictures. Colors are glorious.

I think what interested me is partly what interested him, how the older women had freedom to dress in wild color. But also the idea of younger people adopting some blander Western dress, as well as his claim that he doesn't see any of the women ever dressed alike. Not sure about whether they don't tend toward their own template as much as blogger chic gals. Wonder if he means that they don't want to dress alike vs. many women who follow internet fashion wanting some version of what they admire on someone else.

If anyone has any doubts about whether or not it is worthwhile to tailor a garment, I think the pictures in Sally's post should provide the definitive answer.

Personally I think too many women get discouraged and down on their body shapes because of not fitting into garments as designed by the manufacturers. If we all insisted on having access to tailoring, just like men do when they buy their clothes, I think most of us would be astonished at what we could wear.
