This blew me away. I'm fascinated by how the light conditions seem to change what colors are more flattering to a person. This explains why/how city black and tropical whites are or are not successful. And everything in between. Match the flowers in your landscape, which are suited to your light conditions! (to attract birds/insects best - duh! slaps head)

I enjoyed J's Everyday post about how not to look cheap. http://www.jseverydayfashion.c.....cheap.html She shops on a budget but manages to look pulled together and chic. I even went and bought an identical silk shirt from the post to pair with my shorts and jeans to 'up' my chic factor from knit tees

I bought a pair of booties from Pantanetti this week, and was struck by the craftsmanship, the timeless designs and the quality of their products. I think such shoes are a worthy investment. I plan to take very good care of my new booties, and hope to have them for many seasons to come. They are made in a traditional Italian men's shoes factory, and as they say, men like their garments to last. So should we!

Although it can be seen as the natural progression from heavily Photoshopped images, I was a bit surprised and concerned when I saw that more companies are using virtual models. Am I the only one who wants to know how clothes look on real bodies?

This exhibition at the New York Metropolitian Museum of Art was just amazing. The pictures don't do it justice but I hope that readers will click on the links on the left side to see more, including the videos that played in each section and the "impossible conversation" between Italian designers Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada and examples from the collection of "Waist Up/Waist Down," "Ugly Chic," "Hard Chic," "Naïf Chic," "The Classical Body," "The Exotic Body," and "The Surreal Body."
