I saw this colour palette generator mentioned on The Vivienne Files. It can break down all the colours used in one outfit, or for that matter all the different shades in any other picture that inspires you. Interesting and fun if you want to experiment with colour combinations.

I was moaning on another thread (or was it a private conversation?) about the absence of pre-owned garments on ebay, the lack of thrift stores here... The reason behind is that we tend to still recycle old garments into other things (bags, mats, baby clothes, doggie jackets) or give them to charity --- OR we barter them for stainless-steel kitchen containers and cookware.

What I hadn't thought about was the final resting place of these bartered threads. Some arrive in flea markets, but a lot of them go here for a special kind of recycling that warms my heart: http://www.livemint.com/2010/0.....rn-in.html
