got me reminiscing about the 1980s BR, and I found the site Abandoned Republic where artist Scott C. Adams presents 80s BR catalogs and associated artwork. Catalogs from that era are fetching $20-$30 each, so heads up if you find a stash somewhere!

There are a lot of color theorists and stylists out there, but so far, Jen Thoden's site has been the easiest breakdown for me! She does color consultations for a fee, or you can take her online quiz and work it out for yourself. Lots of great info on this site!

I LOVE the BR catalog site - I totally remember when they first opened and were all British Raj safari style. Reminds me of J. Peterman. And which store carried "Outback Red"? Too much fun.

Outback Red! I had the best cotton sweater (with a bunch of tiny buttons up the front)... from The Limited. Yes, the 80's were my decade ;-).

Interesting. J. Peterman took on the safari/outfitter market when BR left, but I only know of them from old Seinfeld episodes -- when J. Peterman met Elaine.
