Well, this isn't new, looks like it's from last August, but I love these photos of Christine Lagarde, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund. She's just so Euro stylish, and she's older, and she's got a long neck (I have two of these three traits). Her clothing is neutral with interesting details, like leather lapels on a suit, and of course fits beautifully. I appreciate that she shows neutral is not boring (obviously having a designer budget helps).

I like the spirit behind the posting of fashion 'fails' over at J's Everyday http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/ Although some look just fine to me, even though she considers them failures, the idea that it doesn't have to be perfect to put out there is a good one for all of us, when surrounded by so much striving for perfection (especially with fashion blogs).

I found this an interesting description of clothing pricing and manufacturing over the last century. As the price of our clothes has gone down the number of items in our wardrobes has increased: "In 1930, the average American woman owned an average of nine outfits. Today, we each buy more than 60 pieces of new clothing on average per year."

This may be a little weird but I was inspired by the book Inge added: Nostalgia in Vogue.
I previewed it on Amazon and put Joan Didion in the search. Amazing reminiscence
of the glamour models like Jean Patchett.
