I really like this menswear blog in general and in particular liked the explanation for how to wear a statement piece for those whose typical style is classic/traditional. Make only *one* element of it unexpected. Loved the image of the suede shoe worn with a suit being unexpected because you expect men's dress shoes to gleam and reflect light and here the suede absorbed light. I'm going to use this idea of the one unexpected feature to evaluate future acquisitions and road test it for myself.
I'm having a hard time finding a link which is not overly graphic -- the topic is very distressing -- but I've read several news items that fur coming out of China is made from dogs.
I enjoyed reading about Rick owens's process in this interview. Especially how he designs everything, not making use of a design team. Also learning that he started as a pattern maker, which makes sense as his garments have an excellent fit. http://hypebeast.com/2015/11/r.....-we-buying
I stumbled across a blog written by a college acquaintance. I am amazed at the way she captures the essence of an artwork or body of art in an outfit. Inspiration through art is an occasional challenge for us on YLF, but Ariel is a master! http://www.artfullyawear.com/?m=1
