My apologies if this is a re-post - this article is from January of this year. It touches on several things, but if I had to boil it down to one stand-out concept, it is that when we dress for work, we are "defining our public-facing self". It is an aspect I had not fully considered before. I find this idea both interesting and wearying. Sometimes I love to pick apart what I want my "public-facing self" to be, but more often than not, I just want to put on some clothes, walk out the door, and conquer my world - without worrying whether I wore the right accessories to do just that.

She focuses on anti-aging procedures, skincare, make-up, hair, fashion, nutrition, and exercise. My sister has found her skin care and make up reviews very helpful. As we age we can find products that once worked for us not longer do and it can be a struggle to find suitable replacements. Apparently she is quite rigorous in her testing of products and her reviews are very balanced. xxx

It's often hard for me to see what's right in front of my face and this post on how to wear all black (or anything, in my book) with intentionality really gripped me. I liked how she contrasted structure with "flow". Initially, the idea of adding some items with wiggle to structured outfits and vice versa seemed intuitively right. Angie often speaks of how to add structured elements, including showing an amount of skin for structure. But the post caused me to realize how much I crave some degree of structure in my items - plus tying them down as with straps, belts, etc. And most important to me, what it means to me personally is that I don't react well to the vaunted "effortless" look - when a person's amazing wardrobe falls on their amazing body and they're always amazingly right on trend - accidentally enviously Perfect. I realized I like intentionality.
