La Belle, thank you so much for the link to the Nife. I used to read her from time to time and am happily poking into it again.
From another of her posts I found this morning:
"Why do we always need to buy more stuff? In that case clothes? I thought
about this, and I realized this might be because we imagine ourselves
happier owning something new, compared to our current situation. In the
case of clothes, we imagine new outfits, maybe we even imagine ourselves
more beautiful and stylish with these new clothes. This eternal search
for happiness through new things could be what causes us to buy always
more. "
One concept intrigues me: in your link she mentions imagining 5 totally different outfits to see if a new purchase is worthwhile to her. To me this means 5 different Looks. I wonder how many different looks most people use. Seems totally opposite to the style statement concept where you strive to get your outfits to convey the same message consistently. I will be pondering this. Thanks again!
