I love to read about people's aha moments on their style journey. I particularly related to how, despite her physical fragility, she chose strong, thick fabrics to reflect her "forceful will." It always interests me to see how people handle a mismatch between physicality and personality/character.

Lovely Amber of Forever Amber fame has another blog about shoes, but what I really love is that she has a "dress of the day" and a frock roundup - and her tastes are very inline with my own, so the things she likes, I usually like to! Augmented photo technology is out there, but the fact that this runs real time and behaves more like a proper "mirror" is especially cool. I don't wear eye shadow so I'd be much more interested in its use for lip colors. And a trip to Milan to play with it, while we're taking requests

This is from the category of fun geeky trivia. I was looking for a particular button size and ran into a short introduction on why buttons are sized in Ligne, French for lines, along with a handy chart for converting button sizes. Dating to the pre-1700s, a ligne is based on the inside diameter of a "round wick folded flat." It is also used to measure watch movements. Buttons Specifications

Oh! I also found this look at French vs. British styles of dressing from a fashion blogger who apparently frequents both places (she must live a more glam lifestyle than I do)! I found her fashion insider view of cracking the french market quite interesting - marking up Zara and shopping being a weekend sport with mothers and grandmothers in France.

I really enjoyed the article comparing French and English attitudes. Those that grow up with uniforms wanting standout individuality and those without school uniforms looking for conforming/belonging with the "right" items.
