I like this blog in general. It's someone who teaches fashion in Norway.

I find her method of doing inspiration/mood boards very good. She talks to three levels of persons from someone who hasn't thought much about clothes to someone who has perhaps thought overmuch and intellectualizes everything. She has you analyze verbally and then narrow down your inspiration photos to 3 boards of 6 looks each: outfits, accessories, hair and makeup. It's very very hard for me to find 6 complete looks and I'm still stuck there. Probably explains why so many photos I save have little comments like "the collar" or other individual details. The blog itself has examples of her student's work in representing typical iconic styles through this kind of distillation. Of course, those are in Norwegian. But for the first time I could see the pre-Raphaelite roots in Bohemian style (and understand why it feels inauthentic for me), though I've read loads of the history before.
