This article on DVF, interesting for so many reasons. This comment, in response to money the brand owes to vendors (some since Oct) seems to have gotten the most attention, “We will be as fair as we possibly can,” she said. “The smaller people will definitely be handled. I own it — of course I do.”. But this was the one that really stuck me, “Corona hits someone a lot worse if they have a precondition,” Ms. von Furstenberg said in an interview. Apparently the brand has been in trouble for at least 5 years, and the current situation just made it impossible to keep pretending it was going to get better.

Walmart has announced they're closing for Thanksgiving this year; it will be interesting to see if other retailers follow suit, and whether Black Friday will be a thing this year at all:

Jaime and kkards - I've reached my limit of NYT articles this month, so can't read them, but will include them in the round-up, thank you.

Laura - Good question about how it will all evolve!

Joyce - I've not worn jeans very often the last few months (also because the weather's now warmer), but can't imagine not wearing any jeans at all either. I've no doubt they'll come out to play again more once Autumn comes around.

I do not think jeans will go away. They have been around a very long time. Everything depends on how long the pandemic lasts, and the economy. Autumn is not going to produce and new trends in any major way.
