I thought this was quite interesting today: made to order fast fashion. Would be a win for sustainability and your size would be a moot point... makers wouldn’t have to run up different sizes and just hope they sell. Seems to work best with knits... and there are scaleability issues... still, what a great challenge that would be to work on solving them.

These are two articles I read this week that seem to play off each other and off the theme of who are you dressing for. The first one is the more serious and depicts a no-win situation of women being held responsible for dressing for their own success - defined in serious grown-up terms. The second one is more visceral and in a lighter vein and defines teenage male success as being validated in each other's estimation. Sure seems easier to succeed as a teenage boy, eh.

This may insert a sour note, but ‘Une Femme’ posted about the influence of her parents on her sense of self and how it has had an impact on her style. I am also ‘of a certain age’ and grew up in a home where both parents had issues around food and and weight and where my mother still feels compelled to comment on my appearance and that of my sister.
