From Quartz: "“We Wear Culture” is a collaboration between Google and more than 180 museums, schools, fashion institutions, and other organizations from all parts of the globe. It’s part of Google’s Arts & Culture platform, which is digitizing the world’s cultural treasures, and functions as a searchable guide to a collective archive of some 30,000 fashion pieces that puts “three millennia of fashion at your fingertips,” Google says.

But it isn’t just a database. Google has worked with curators to create more than 450 exhibits on different topics—say, how the cheongsam changed the way Chinese women dress—making the site an endlessly entertaining, educational portal filled with stunning imagery touching on everything from modern Japanese streetwear to the clothes worn at the court of Versailles."

I have found three articles that really captured my attention, so perhaps pick your favorite, and use the other two in a future link love?

My obsession with the personal uniform concept is still going strong. But it never occurred to me that you could reverse-engineer the process...

“The key question you’re asking is, What behavior do we want to produce and what impression do we want to portray?” Dr. Galinksy said. “You work backward from that into that uniform.”

And for those of us who plan to travel this summer, and want to lighten the load, here are two wonderful minimalist packing articles. My a-ha! moment: pack trial sizes, then pick up more as you need to, during your travels. Why have I never thought of that?

Isabelle - Couldn't agree more!-)

La Belle - I loved the thought process behind the uniform dressing. The travel sizes tip is a great suggestion for sure. And backpacks only for a 3-week European trip, I'm impressed! I didn't agree with not bringing at least one extra pair of shoes though. What if the pair you brought suddenly starts feeling uncomfortable, or you are caught in a rainstorm and they are soaking wet etc.? (I guess you could always buy new shoes on the spot, but then you'd have to break those in, which could be tricky...).

JAileen - Interesting indeed, and it was fun to see so much pink pop up.

Inge - I am with you about the extra shoes. My feet are happiest when I rotate daily.

I can't wait to look at the other links, but I always make myself wait for Friday. It's my weekly ritual, with coffee.

Personally, I've not bought much clothing from Amazon, though I've read it's a top destination for millennials. In my experience they're missing the labels I tend to purchase, though admittedly, I've not looked recently.

Do any of you purchase clothing regularly from Amazon?

Amazon's search engine for fashion is not very good. I used to buy from time to time if I have a % off and knew an exact item I was looking for. I never found it friendly to just browsing.

Hi Inge, following on with the link on older models, which I think you were going to save for this next Link Love?- it was Aquamarine's link I think- I Google searched the older model I mentioned, Mercy Brewer. I've seen her in person on 2 runways, one at our local shopping centre Spring Fashion show last year, and one at NZ Fashion week. She is of course tall and gorgeous still, but at least she is 57 with grey hair! She is originally from Scotland and modelled in London back in 1984 initially then was re-discoverd here after a decades-long break.

How TJMaxx is Bucking the Crisis in Retailing.

Quite long and fascinating story that was published in the WSJ and Fox News. I'm a Massachusetts native and grew up with Marshall's, but have preferred TJMaxx in recent years. I love that this company was founded in my own backyard. The corporate headquarters is really close to the bus company I use when going to/from Boston's Logan airport.
