Inge, youre so right. The Battle of Versailles was an epic event. I met one of the African American models featured, Norma Jean Darden, some years ago. Her mother was a schoolteacher in Virginia and taught my great uncle in the 1920s. Norma Jean Darden and her parents were good friends with my great uncle and aunt when they lived in New Jersey. She is also a cookbook author and successful restaurateur/caterer.
