While I've already suggested a link, I found this Guardian article to be pretty sobering re: the unknown toxicity in cosmetics, most particularly unregulated in U.S. This first came to my attention when my son had a severe outbreak of boils that several dermatologists could not diagnose or cure and he came back from a few days at girlfriend's house and pronounced it a lot better. What is different at their house? Nothing he could think of except they didn't have baby wipes. Coincidentally, I then read an article in a British paper about the severe reactions to a preservative, even found in baby wipes, that was then outlawed in Europe but not in U.S. I checked his wipes and there it was. And in shampoos, conditioners, hand lotions. body wash, hand soap.... I threw all of that out and won't let anything with that back into the house.
This article about a docuseries also mentions "
This goes for more than just cosmetics — the Guardian’s series Toxic America has found harmful chemicals in everything from food to children’s toys to pizza boxes to tap water"
