I don’t do Instagram or Tic Tok - preferring wordy blogs along with inspirational images, but I would be naive if I said I haven’t been exposed to some over-polished images. It would have been called ‘photo shopped’ back in the day of printed materials.

I do crop my OOTD photos, and will sometimes tinker with exposure to better show colour or detail, but I have yet to apply a filter.

Carla, i do the same as you—cropping out the crap and adjusting brightness, etc so y’all can actually see the thing I’m trying to post. I haven’t tried filters.

@ Stagaire Fash - generally I wait for Inge to review the submissions and post a collection of interesting links on her ‘Links Love’ blog before bringing a subject to the Forum for discussion. It shows respect for her work as an editor of the links we might think are worth a look and doesn’t jump the shark, IYKWIM.

I liked this article on platform shoes and how they are trending again. It made a good point that when times are tough women can update their shoes for a quick fashion fix.

I will wear this trend because I have always loved a good platform to add height.

Went down the rabbit hole with this blog? site? on all aspects of shoes. Focused on men's shoes but lots applies universally like the history of the differences between shoe sizing systems of Europe, UK and Us, history of the Chelsea boot, how to change your shoe lacing for better fit and comfort, use navy shoe polish to give burgundy shoes depth, why the quality of shoe leather will never be the same as it was, use a soft goat hair brush to shine shoes and an old pair of nylons to restore shine between polishing, whether or not you can fix heel slippage depending on the last used, affixing a tongue type pad in loafers to correct slippage, generalizations about foot and especially toe alignment across the world (Justine Leconte did a video showing that how your toes are set influences the shoes that will or will not fit you better).

The stretchy material or nowadays elastic is supposed to make them really easy on and off and with a high volume foot that often doesn't work for me at all! Chelsea boot envy.
