Very interesting, Carla. And lots of eye candy indeed, thank you. I love the gentleman's plaid trousers in photo 18, and it's so refreshing to see (mostly) closed-toe footwear that works for the season (as opposed to e.g. sandals sans hosiery in freezing temps).
I don't think clogs have ever gone out of style. In my opinion, they are classic footwear. I have fond memories of my first (floral!) pair and wish my feet could still tolerate them. https://www.bbc.com/culture/ar.....-our-times
This NY sustainability bill has not been passed yet, but could be pretty big given that virtually every fashion brand from fast to designer operates some of its business out of New York State.
SG, I had to stop wearing clogs about 12 years ago when walking in them became unbearable. So, I doubt Crocs or rubber soled clogs would be much different now.
As a non-traditional modest dresser, I loved this video tour of Orthodox Jewish street fashion. I do come from this background generations back and have extended family in some of these neighborhoods. As the video says, none of them are just dressed in black. It's a You Do You modest style.
Iris Apfel is 100 years old! And a very maximal dresser. She's known for saying, "more is more, and less in a bore". Whether you believe that or not, I found this list of more of Apfel's forthright quotes fascinating, thought provoking, and hilarious. Well worth a quick read and cerebral sink-in!
I am very sad that Andre Leon Talley has died, and there are many great remembrances of him out there. His last book, The Chiffon Trenches was absoultely wonderful (IMO). I'm very hopeful there will be an exhibit of his amazing personal fashion, from couture suits to caftans.
Angie, I love her quote about working at becoming who you are! Nearly sent the whole list as today’s pick-me-up for my friend who’s fighting cancer (but Larry Wilmore won out).
