Please help: This tote or not?

A few weeks ago I looked at this tote bag in black calf leather. It never left my thoughts.
It's expensive, but will last many years. It has lining and a top zipper. I'm still thinking about it, but I'm not not sure if I really want it enough, yet. It hits me at my hip, but the straps can be adjusted to suit my height. I will be wearing it as a combined work/weekend bag, with room for my computer when needed, and otherwise a shopping tote. The angle in the photo is peculiar, I'm taller than that:)
What do you think? Is it worth the investment? Is it a classic, and does it suit me? Please be VERY honest.

Very classically pretty! And for a tote, it doesn't have a too big and bulky feel to it- looks fine on you. Since you'll be using it a lot, it sounds like it's worth it. Another yes vote!

A top zipper is great. I have been using a tote this size for the last two weeks and am now addicted to carrying it. Yours is lovely and sleek - i vote yay!

I like it! Despite their ubiquity, it can be hard to find just the right black bag. So if you have been thinking about this one for a few weeks, that's probably a sign!

The size is good (not too large), the style is classic and will never date, quality looks fab and the adjustable height straps makes it quite versatile. If you think you will use it, I think the investment is worthwhile. It's lovely!

Thanks for all the input! It's the last one they have, so I have to decide within a short timeframe. I'm glad you are so positive. Rachylou, it is very light, actually! That's one of the reasons that I like it. And no logos, no fuss at all. That should make it fresh for a long time, although not a "statement piece".

I vote yes. It sounds like you will get a lot of use out of it & it is classic & without seeing it IRL it is probably high quality so will last.

It's such a treat to come back and read all your encouraging comments! I really like it, but I'm not that *excited* about it. I do believe this is the kind of bag that remains useful in a very long time, a reliable workhorse. The primadonnas are more fun to buy, but not as versatile. My bag collection is very small and I really need basics first. So, I think I will dig deep into my wallet and buy this one.
