Please help me style this dress!

I work for a firm, which holds a social ball once a year during winter (July) at night, where everyone is invited and their partners.

The only problem is I can't decide if I should go with black or cream accessories/shoes/clutch for the night. Also, how should I style my hair? I usually like to wear it up for these events.

What a stunning dress! I would tend to go black or metallic with the plum. A bit if sheen or sparkle is always great at night.

lovely dress….i'm a low contrast person, so i'd go for black accessories or try to get something in a wine color, but i also like Sally's suggestion of metallic…….

The dress is gorgeous. I don't think that you can go wrong with strappy sandals in metallic, nude or black with a clutch that blends with them. The style of the dress could work with hair up or down. If it is a hot evening, wear it up.

agree with all the comments, shoes in black, metallic, nude (meaning close to your skin tone) would be great, I think I would vote for metallic and a bag that coordinates but does not match exactly. The dress is gorgeous it does not need a lot of extras so I'd stay with simple lines in the shoes/bag. I'd vote for hair up to show up the beautiful neckline and back styling.

Meow...Have you bought clothes from modcloth before, and if so what do you think of them? Curious about them...

As others have said, this is a really gorgeous dress. It's full of potential, and I agree about the metallics.

It's a really beautiful dress. I'd try textured black (beaded bag?) or metallic accompaniments. I think hair up would look good, it's hard to judge exactly what kind of updo without seeing you.

Totally glam!
Agree with all. Something moody or nude but would not do cream or white--would try to keep with the deep color mode of the dress.
Usually I have to find "the shoes" first because those are hard for me, and then there are usually a lot of options for clutch.

Chris987 - I personally like Modcloth, and I have been purchasing from them for a while now. Being in Australia though, for me it can get quite pricey due to the exchange rate, and shipping costs are huge for me. I find the quality is usually good, and sizing is pretty consistent. Before I usually buy though, I will look through the reviews on the item of clothing and then email one of the stylists to confirm sizing because I can't return items so easily.

I would go with the cream silver.
I would not wear a necklace but maybe longer earrings and certainly metallic cuff bracelet (gold or silver).
I would wear my hair up.

Because this is a deep plum color you have to summer-ize it a bit. I'd go with metallic sandals in either silver or distressed gold and a clutch along those lines.

Smokey eye, nudish lip.

Either a statement necklace or statement earrings. Not both.

This is going to be an amazing look!
