Please help me finish my summer wardrobe

I feel like I have a good start and want to finisih shopping! I like a small, efficient wardrobe but need enough to take along on casual beach vacations.

I spend most of my summer in casual wear and just need a few dressier things. I'm an hourglass shape, brunette with YLF suggested cool coloring.

This is what I have - what is missing and what should be eliminated as non ylf approved?

2 Khaki walk shorts
brown walk shorts
brown cargo clams (on their last summer!)
white clams
denim skirt

5 girly tops in bright pink, aqua, teal, royal blue and white
(need more of these)

cotton sundress in white, yellow, aqua, brown

3 cardigans in white, black, aqua

in the dressier category:

white skirt with beading in bright pink, aqua, yellow and bright pink top (shoes?)
brown and cream floral skirt with brown sweater ( I have no shoes to wear with this)
black wrap dress

Shoes are tough:

brown dansko sissy
black dressier sandals
I bought white gladiator sandals but can't get used to wearing white shoes. I haven't been able to wear them out of the house yet.

I have a multicolored bag but feel the need for a solid color. What color?
I'm okay with swimsuit.

I think you have a great start (actually, you have way more than I have LOL)
Here's what I see that you might like to fill in with:

denim clams
green or patterned tops
denim jacket in blue or white
brown cardi
white pants
metallic sandals or flats
white bag
Good luck rounding out your wardrobe!

Great suggestions! I actually do have a denim jacket that I forgot about. It has been so hot. How could I forget about denim clams?

I'd say definately denim clams. Perhaps a non-denim casual skirt for a really hot day? I find non-denim to be cooler than denim and skirts to be cooler than walk shorts. Congrats on having such an organized wardrobe!

That's a great summer wardrobe! Along with denim clams, I might add some knee- or calf-length leggings (depending on the temperature of your summers; if it's really not, obviously leggings won't work too well). Also, a sarong is nice for a beach cover-up that can double as a fun skirt, dress or top.

As far as a summer bag goes, something in an appropriate shade of yellow or orange would go with your clothes and provide a nice pop of color.

Thanks ladies! I love the idea of a yellow or white bag. I'll start looking.

Maybe the metallic shoes in place of the white? I'm still trying to get used to the white gladiators that I found.

If the white gladiators aren't working for you, definitely see if you can replace them with a metallic one. My rule of thumb is, if I buy something new and can't find anything to wear with it after three tries in the house, I return it.

One can tell that you put lots of thought into your wardrobe. I vote metallic or nude in footwear. Some heels or wedges close in color to your skin tone will go with all your dressy things for summer. Gold or bronze is a great metallic choice with your browns and silver/pewter should work with the multi-colored-on-white skirt as well as everything else.

Great advice and I think I will start looking for metallic sandals.

I got brave and wore the white sandals out today. I love the way they fit (very fussy feet) and I guess my eye is adjusting to the white.

I do like to be organized an thoughtful about my wardrobe. I hate the thought of wasting money and of wardrobe orphans. It happens sometimes, but I'm getting better! I do have to be careful not to get too matchy-matchy.
