Please Help me choose Leopard Shoes - Photos Added

I have an aging pair of Leopard print Me Too flats that I must replace because I love Leopard print and NEED it in shoes. I want to take advantage of the fact they are EVERYWHERE. I saw these today at the Rack today, but I'm not sure if these are as cool as the metallic ones Rae and others (Dianthus? Rita? are sportin, but I'm very tempted)

I also found (and purchased just in case) Awesome Tesori leopard print very low heeled (1/2 in?) ballet flats that are crazy comfy, but they are REAL fur I discovered when I brought them home. Is this ok? I feel badly about it. It does not specify whose fur, but not my usual thing.
Do I need both? neither?

Are they furry fur, or flat fur like calf hair?

ETA not a fan of the Sperry's though. Sole too thick and white and doesn't go with the rest of the shoe.

Well, I like the Sperry's but I am a big boat shoe fan in general.

My dalmatian booties are real hair - calf hair leather. I have two bags with this also. I believe this is the hide in its natural state, so I veiw it the same as regular leather.

They are calf hair I think. Not fuzzy fur at all. Veal I guess. (sniff) The white sole is what made me pause on the Sperry's too. I am pretty preppy, but that even tested me.

I think you'd find ballet flats or slipper flats to be more versatile than boat shoes in leopard.

I don't like the sperrys at all there is too much going on with the leopard,laces,leather and the thick soles. The calf hair would be my pick.

I would also go with the calf hair ones, but I am not a huge Sperry fan. I *think* that calf hair isn't really from baby calves, it's just the outside of regular old leather and they just call it that because it sounds better than cow hair (maybe? or I'm just rationalizing because I have a pair of calf hair Docs).

I agree with Jonesy. Calf hair is, from everything I can tell, almost always just leather from cows without the hair removed. They sometimes call it pony too. If it was from a calf, the hair would be very fine textured. (Trust me, I'm a farm girl, I've touched a few calves.) If you have leather shoes or eat beef, calf hair is no better or worse. Of course, that's the rational side of it. If it makes you feel guilty, you shouldn't buy it. No one wants a pair of guilty shoes.

Those specific Sperrys look more like tennis shoes to me than a replacement flat.

So, I voting ballet flats (even without seeing the Tesori's).

I happened on a pair at my Rack and fell for them. Claire has them too, and probably others. This one seems to run a bit more wide than narrow, so even I can wear the pointy toes.

Thank you for keeping me practical. I will get tons more wear from the flats (as evidenced by my worn out ones) I'll try to snap a shot of them this weekend. I'm still trying my self imposed challenge of all red/white/blue for the Olympics and I have yet to figure out how to mix animal print with that combo.

JJS -- I avoided leopard shoes for a long time because I don't like the hairy texture of most of them, and the print on many of those made of fabric looked cheap or unconvincing to me.

You may have seen these at NAS but balked at the price. I have these from last season and honestly, I could not tell the difference when I saw the Adaptable version in Nordstrom IRL.

The Lastikons come in two shades of leopard and the print on the left and right shoes on my pair is different enough that they look, to my eye, nicer than shoes where the print is identical on both, like it was stamped out.

I think the ballet flats go with your style more and I like them better anyhow... Seem a lot more versatile to me.

So many great suggestions and advice. And OH MY MNSara, April and Angie those Me Too, SE and J Crew flats are GORGEOUS. But, I think I'm keeping these but I admit I might still want some animal pumps and there were several other cute flats - one another Sperry, but more of a vinyl ballet flat and one (not Sperry) a vinyl or patent (waterproof at least) slipper. Terry - do you have a Rack nearby?
Photos added of the shoes in question (so odd I found no link anywhere online to these shoes as if they never really existed, yet here they are. They are very comfortable too (even at the end of the day in my Gap gear pants - hiked up to show shoes, and bonus Kensie stripe tank from Rack online)
And for anyone keeping track I returned a dress I had bought with Nordstrom Notes for the shoes which I think I'll get more wear out of.

Ah! I just came home with those very same shoes. I didn't think I would want ballet flats, but they were too cute to resist! Good choice, they go with everything dressed up or down.
