Please help me choose docs - YouLookFab Forum

I was in the store again to try some docs on for sizing. I'm fairly sure I need a 38 (UK 5), but I couldn't try one size up because I would have needed to start a longer discussion to get the SA to bring me a difference size - she was just unbelievable!

There weren't any people there beside me, only the two SAs. Well, let's just say they were more than a bit rude - I'm just glad I didn't want to buy there anyway.

I had another look at the store I found and there are several I like.

The classic colors:

I also like the ones with the flowers, but they're only available in black and white combinations and I don't think that they would fit well into my things.

What do you think about these? Do you have a preference? Which once could you see best with the my outfits? I really need them to be versatile everyday boots.

I'm going to keep looking for some different online stores, maybe I find another pair.

I vote for either the peacock or the purple. I was hoping for one of the flowered ones though, mostly because I want a pair of floral Docs.

Thanks, Anna. I think peacock or purple would be a good choice. The dress blue ones look like they could be hard to coordinate colorwise.

Do you mean these? I love the flowers, but I really want some boots other than black, because I'm a bit sick of wearing my black ones.

But moot point because they don't come in your size.
Those ones you linked to would be hard to wear with your current style, they're too graphic. And yeah if you're tired of black, then a color would be good.

Yes, the ones you linked too are great. But you're right, I've already seen that they don't have my size. You're right about the other ones being too graphic too.

I think the peacock would definitely be the most versatile, I think they are as close to a neutral as you get wile still having a color. Although the purple ones are great too. A bit more showy for sure. I think I can eliminate the second and the last pair.

I've looked for another store, but didn't find one where they had anything interesting in my size yet.

LoP, we posted at the same time. I just wanted to eliminate the studded ones! They seem to be a bit to UWP for me, I don't know. And they're suede (unpractical!).

I don't think you can go wrong with the peacock or the purple. They are both muted colors that will work as a neutral. I have the docs in Dress Blue and they are more on the green side of blue so I feel like they work well in my wardrobe. I'm not too keen on the graphic print ones though--they don't seem as versatile.

I love the dress blue version--- but I'm not sure I could see them on you as easily. Too much of a pop, I think.

Yes, I think you're right, Kelly. Purple is in fact one of my neutrals and I love wearing it, so that wouldn't be a problem. I think the dress blue ones might clash with some of the greens I wear, so I think they wouldn't be as versatile for me. Seems like it's going to be a decision between purple and peacock!

Elly, I really think they would pop to much, you're right. So another vote for the purple then!

I think either would look great with your hair color! It's a tough decision. Added a pic of the dress blues for you too.

Thanks for chiming in, Angie! And the first vote for the Rosie cut outs too - I really like those too. I think it would look great to see some colorful tights peek out. Although I'm not sure if it would be impractical during bad weather.

I vote for the purple - it's a great basic colour - will look great with grey,blue, brown, black, green, gold - probably most of your wardrobe will look wonderful with these!

I vote for the Peacock. I think they are most classic, sort of neutral (seem to go with a lot of what I've seen you wear) and just super cool. I'd get this color myself. The others are fun and if you can get more than one...

Thanks for your votes - I just ordered the purple ones! I love the color from what I've seen in pics here so far. It was a bit anxiety inducing because I've never spent that much money on shoes, but I'm counting on you all to help me decide if they're worth keeping when they arrive.

Docs are indestructible so you will whittle down the cost per wear in no time.

I like them all! I kind of lean towards the ones with the studs but I realize that being shorter and more "rugged" looking, they may not be as versatile.
