Oooh, thank you so much, Angie! I'm so glad that both dresses work on her--I have such a hard time judging these kind of things. This is a far cry from the Gunne Sax dresses I used to wear to school dances *cringe.* She is set to wear the black dress--and now that I have YLF approval, I can stop worrying about trying to find the red dress I put on hold.

I liked #2 best, because it was refined. So I think good choice. But really, #1 was good too for winter formal.

I know you already picked a dress but I just wanted to say your DD looks sensational in both of those dresses! And I totally tried on the 2nd dress @ H&M last week lol.

Hope she has a great time!

Your DD looks sensational! And what a good, helpful, supportive DM you are!

I am late for the party. ..
for what is worth she looks perfect in both if them. The red one is a more grown up style.
She will rock with the black one and please post her casual looks with it, i wanna be prepared for the future

Just to chime back in slightly less rushed--I like the black dress because the red one seems a little toooo ruffley, even though it is very pretty. The black one looks great on her, and I like all her ideas about styling it in other ways. Also the high waist adds a girlish touch that keeps it age-appropriate, and I like the idea of wearing shorts underneath. (Just learned about "sliders" right here.) In any case you have a beautiful daughter, and she is also lucky to have such a supportive and helpful mom.
