Don't worry about "everything" else. You have made really good choices for the main part. Everything else will fall into place. YAY ! Let us know how it goes and remember that you have a bevy of fans cheering you on .
Awwww once again thank you for your really lovely comments, it is very sweet of you

And yes I do like that top but of course it doesn't mean I won't be buying more tops to wear too. So all advice and tips, like I have said, greatly received.

And yes I will be getting ready with my friends. To be honest I have to because I am very inexperienced and they will be doing my hair and makeup etc etc. I would not have a clue where to start!!!!

Also got to practice my mannerisms, walking, standing, sitting etc.

Wow I really can't believe how nice the people are on here, I wish I had found this website earlier.
Oh and in terms of shoes what colour? Try and get some the same as the top? If not will black still be ok?

Black would work. Especially since it bookends your hair.

Nude (skin-toned) pumps would work too---elongate the legline.

Silver and strappy would be really special.

What kind of bag are you going to carry? (Not a bag expert but many here are....)
Hiya Isis

I think I would like silver and strappy (not a massive heel) and as for bag thinking clutch I suppose, again maybe same colour as top.
Silver and strappy feet sounds grand! Maybe a silver or metallic clutch as well? I wonder if the clutch matched to your top will get lost....

Any other accessories? Earrings? Bracelets?
Silver strappy shoes sound beautiful! I love the idea of a silver clutch, too. As Isis said, one that matches the top might get lost in the outfit. How fun that your friends are going to help with your hair and makeup - glad they are supporting you for your big night. You're going to look so chic!
Yes I agree I think silver strappy heels and bag would be better, maybe even black as they would go with a lot of things?

And yes not sure about jewellery etc. I am guessing with that top no need for necklace but maybe longish silver/diamante earrings? Maybe a bracelet similar coulour to top? Than nails, underwear, etc to think about. Perfume? Maybe something in hair/wig? Not sure.

Oh thank you Rae and yes it is great. Yes would love to look chic. If I could look in the mirror and think I was pretty (you never know!) would be well happy.
I really love the outfit you picked out! I think the top will be great since the drape will hide your shaper/corset. I also like the idea of keeping your makeup and hair simple and elegant. Please let us see pictures when you do go out. Good luck! <3 You are going to look gorgeous!
Oh thank you Laura, that is really nice of you. Well not sure about gorgeous but well here's hoping

And yes of course I will put some pictures up.
Katie, perfume is tricky I think unless it is very, very subtle. Not everyone likes to be around people with perfume and it might seem "too much". I wonder if anyone can recommend a light, fresh scent that seems very natural ? Ladies ? Anyone ? I don't think that you need something in your hair. I think that is also difficult to pull after a woman is 30 -35. To paraphrase CoCo Chanel , look in the mirror and take one thing off...I think it should be the idea of the hair accessory.

I completely agree with the necklace, you don't need one. Your top has a very interesting neckline and shoulders. I think a cuff bracelet would be great. Did you see Sona's ? I posted it below . It doesn't need to be in color but it would be great in silver to match the shoes.

Yes I definitely think a liver bracelet of some kind would be nice and the one you posted is really pretty.

Gosh the look is really coming together. Nervous and excited
I like the shoes. Have you practiced wearing a heel that high? I say, don't wear a heel higher than you can gracefully walk in. If you are comfortable with the heel and platform height on that one, though, I think it will look lovely.

As for perfume, are you a fragrance lover? Or are you considering a fragrance just to complete the outfit?

Here is a link to a perfume nut community which, from what I have seen, is friendly and welcoming to newcomers. I believe they will be just as welcoming to you as this community has been. They have something called "The Monday Mail", where you can ask for fragrance recommendations. According to their website, they have a backlog of requests. However, you may find what you are looking for by reading through past posts. http://www.nstperfume.com/the-monday-mail/

That community also has pointers on how to get perfume samples. I highly recommend getting enough of a sample for several wearings, so that you can truly decide if you like a fragrance before shelling out big bucks on a full bottle.

I agree with the comment above to go lightly on the fragrance for your first night out. A person should have to stand right next to you, or even lean in a bit, in order to smell your perfume. Anything stronger than that is risky. BTW, the term for how "far" a perfume travels is called "sillage". So when you see that word, that's what it means.

And if you aren't really that interested in perfumes, feel free to ignore my ramblings. Perfume just happens to be a recurring interest of mine. And recently, the interest has been sparked again.
Hiya and thank you again. I have practiced a bit in heels but will definitely practice more. I suppose I do want look and feel as elegant as possible. As for perfume, I do want to wear some but not really thought about it as yet. But wow thanks for your advice it is much appreciated At the end of the day I just want to look and feel as feminine as possible whatever it entails. I probably have so much more to think about but not even considered as yet. Yikes ha ha.
You are welcome! And don't worry too much about what you may not have considered yet. Your feminine self is a work in progress, and you will probably find yourself and your tastes evolving over time. Which is kind of exciting.

One more bit of fragrance related advice: If you want to smell nice, but minimize the possibility of wearing something too strong, I suggest trying a scented moisturizer. It is much more difficult to overdo it with a lotion or body cream than with a perfume. And you will get the added benefit of soft skin.
Oh thank you again, more good advice. And you're probably right it will all just click together. As long as I look stunning on the night
Angie has mentioned that heels with a platform are on their way out....so if you want to be of-the-moment, you might consider finding a non-platformed version. I'll try to find where she said that....

ETA: lots of comments about this kind of shoe being on its way out here:

Everyones advice is great I am sure you will look beautiful!! Good Luck with your big night!!
Awww thanks fashionista that's really sweet of you. Much appreciated. And Ista-thank you (again!). You're a complete star
Well I have ordered the top
Hi Katie, I've just come across this post. My oldest son just describes himself as "queer" but he likes to wear makeup and ladies' clothing. Sometimes he wants to look androgynous and sometimes more feminine. My experience of observing him is that your feminine personality involves so much more than your clothes! Of course you want to ( and will) look smashing, but remember that your femininity comes from inside and can shine through in a skirt or in jeans and sneakers. You will shine both from the outside in AND the inside out!
Oh thanks Jenny for your interesting post and feedback. That is really nice to know. Would you be surprised if I said I wasn't gay? I just want to go out and look as good as possible but of course I do want to come across fem.
Nope, not surprised Sending you a PM so we don't get too off-topic.
Oh thanks that would be lovely though I am not a 5 day member yet
I wonder if you are on msn? I imagine you aren't allowed to give out details here though if you are.
OK people just had another potential thought with regards something that might go with the skirt;

How about a jacket like this with a top underneath the jacket?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Woma.....RTM1178013

Tell me what you think?

Thanks
Peplums are in right now. Personally, I would wear a peplum jacket with the skirt you chose. With the right accessories, you could pull off a steampunk-light look. However, I'm going to defer to others on whether the peplum is on trend with the shape of the skirt.

(I tend to welcome new trends, but never say goodbye to the old ones, so I'm not the best authority on whether something looks dated. However, I *love* playing with color when I get a chance.)
When is your big night out?
