Playing in the closet...WIPTW (what I'm planning to wear)?

So, I've been doing some weeding of my closet and some shopping for basics (t-shirts, blazers, denim). Generally I'm in sweats or shorts and a pair of Ugg boots because I'm around the house all day working on my business but I've recently enrolled in a Women's Business Seminar that will meet once a week for 14 weeks. That means that I have to look presentable 14 times!!! I live in Southern California and the seminar is casual dress (someone was in sweats last night)! So, here's some ideas that my daughter and I pulled together. What do you think?

1 is cute and pulled together.
2 and 3 -- love these. They say "creative smart" to me.
4 is a great look but has a boho vibe. I'd repeat one of the other looks instead.
5 and 6 are lovely!
7 I'm on the fence about. I love it as an outfit. The thigh-high top with leggings doesn't read as "work" to me, but then ...it's a casual seminar, and I don't know what business you're in. What about that top with one of the other pairs of pants?

I'd use this seminar as a chance to practice dressing for whatever kinds of business environments you're hoping to be in as a result of the seminar (networking events, client meetings, etc.).

I like #1, 2, 3, 5 and 8 the best for attending a seminar. And please, you look far from just "presentable"! Polished, put-together, confident, in charge ... bankable!

I personally think #4 works (I'm originally from SoCal), but others will probably find it too casual. #7 is more of a running-around outfit, and in #6, I'm not a fan of the sporty black jacket over the rest of the outfit. Just FWIW ... and kudos to your beautiful daughter for sharing her styling expertise.

All of these outfits are spot on. #1 and 6 excited me the least originally, but when I read you were in So Cal - I was like nevermind, perfect. Lol. In my mind, it has to do with the quality of the light / sunshine.

I agree with some others that #7 might be a bit too casual for a business seminar and while I love #4 I'm not sure it's right for this event.

My favorites are 1,2,and 3 which I think you could wear to any business casual event. The other outfits are cute and may work depending on your industry. Generally, the more creative the business, the more fun you get to have with your clothes

Beautiful daughter! 1, 3, and 7 are my favorite (modern, minimal, current) -- but 4 looks very appealing (casual, flirty, current). Looking good. Successful playtime in your closet for sure!

My business wear experience is non existent so I'm respectfully staying out of the way of the more knowledgable people but you look so pretty in that dress! It doesn't look like it would take much room and you won't be All Business 24/7, I think you should bring it too.
All of your outfits are great, hoping you have a wonderful time.

Great outfits but I can't say what level of business your seminar requires. These seem on the casual side to me, but I really have no idea what is appropriate now. Gorgeous daughter!

I agree with gauche, these outfits are way beyond presentable; they are super stylish and look great on you. I think they'll work well for a seminar. Great place to start! You can always adjust as the weeks pass, if you find you need to be more formal for some of the sessions. It sounds like fun having your daughter's help. Good luck in the class!

Smart to plan ahead with your outfits. Outfits 1, 3, 5, and 6 are my favorite, the proportions look good and I always think jeans and a blazer (denim jacket) say casual yet serious to me.

Thank you all. I think I have the best stylist not in the business...yet. She really enjoys shopping with me and making sure that everything I buy has at least 3 uses. She's only 15! I agree that the leggings and draped tunic aren't very business like. I'll save that for a day that I'm just running around town. The dress might be good for a day that I'm out visiting boutiques or on a Saturday with the family.
Before starting my company I was a lawyer so I am very used to the rigid courtroom dress code. Now that I'm my own boss and in a creative field I guess I'm making the adjustments.
Thanks again for your input. More playing to come...(according to my stylist).
