Playing around with the boyfriend jeans - what works?

I thought I'd try figuring out my new boyfriend jeans now that I have my whole wardrobe at my disposal. These were the outfits I liked best, I think I need either a long sleeved or a patterned or dark top to balance things out a bit. The tan oxfords work best with them rolled up I think, but I like them better with the sturdier blue shoes when I leave them long. I hemmed them to PPL, do they look alright?

#1 Semi-tuck.
#2/3 Do you like it better with or without a scarf?
#3 With a simple tee. Too casual?
#5/6 Unrolled for fall. Does it work?
#7 And with a sweater.
#8 Less contrast.

Do you have any favourites? I would also be glad about some more styling suggestions.

They look great on you every which way, Astrid! I am loving them with your scarves, but that might be just because I like you in scarves, period. I'm especially fond of the rolled looks, but my eye needs some adjusting to the BF look at full length on ANYONE, so please take that with a grain of salt. Of the long versions I like #8 best.

I like #1, 3 and 8 the most and #4 too - but all of these really work well. With your dramatic hair coloring I think I like the deep colored tops for whatever reason (I love autum colors and your hair reminds me of autumn). I think my favorites are #1 and #8. Very nice!

Astrid, I really like this look on you. Scarves play well with BF's and that means you can wear this look through fall. Are your oxfords from Aldo? Ceit posted hers today and I think the shoes look very similar.

I like all of them, although I am struggling a little with the unrolled looks of #5 and #6 with the plaid shirt. I am betting they would look great rolled up with the plaid shirt. In contrast, the unrolled look of #7 and #8 are really cute, so I'm not sure what I am struggling with. Maybe the proportions of the plaid shirt?

Thanks Suz! I agree, I still have the same problem with BF jeans at full length. It's such a new look for me and I've only seen them rolled until now IRL.

Thanks Texstyle! The color in #1 is one of my favourite colors on me. Seems #8 is a winner for full length.

Thanks Mona! I love to wear scarves and I wear them everyday in fall and winter. I can't wait to see what combinations I can come up with. The shoes are Paul Green.

Always love you in a scarf Astrid, you wear them in such beautiful ways and have such a variety in your scarf wardrobe.

I'm still trying to put a scarf in rotation or buy a new one and always look to you for inspiration.

LOVE #3. Did you intentionally roll the jeans at slightly different levels? Because I slightly prefer the longer version as on your left leg.

Thanks Jjsloane! Seems like #8 is a winner. I love #3 too, I just thought I'd post it without a scarf as well, because I'm always adding scarves to everything. Seems like I shouldn't have worried about it.

Thanks Freckles! I think I've bought every scarf that I saw where I liked the pattern and the colors where right. Now I really have to stop scarf shopping! Although I recently purged quite a few.

Thanks Denise! And yes, I did ... not. I just rolled them up for the pics and I find it hard to do it right when I'm wearing them. They always end up at different lengths then.

Astrid: I'm going through the same silhouette shift with you, so this is a very helpful post for me. As for the best, I agree with the consensus of the others, with 1 and 8 being my personal faves. I'm surprised that I like the dark colors with the scarf as much as I do -- I figured they'd overwhelm you, but your face is so nicely highlighted!

I like them best rolled with the oxfords. I think a really blousey (airy fabric) top would balance them nicely--I might be saying this because the jeans are dark wash and look thick. 3 is my favorite here.
