It's cute on the tall flat chested models; but it's the kind of detail that might make me feel self consciously jugsy when I tried the shirt on. (I've rejected a lot of pocketed shirts on this highly technical personal metric! Hahaha)

I've never noticed this before, so I guess it doesn't bug me. I think it would depend on the effect you want: if you want to emphasize the bust area, it's probably a good thing, but if not, then no.

I feel like the mismatching might also increase the casual feeling of a plaid shirt. I would think that a shirt without the mismatched pockets would read a little dressier.

I love the Burberry!! Amazing how they made that part of the design.

I'm a yay to pockets as a rule (small busted reporting for duty!) and a yay to plaid shirts (because, yeah, PLAID!!), and also a yay to asymmetry and diagonal lines generally. So I don't mind these at all. The Vans ones are a tiny bit too obvious to my taste -- but not horribly so. I think I'd have to judge on a case by case basis depending on the size of the plaid/ check and the actual placement of the pocket on my bust.

It looks interesting in the models but they would be like to lights to my breasts. They have enough focus by being themselves haha, so a No-no for me.

I don't mind it as a feature but probably not for me.....I am not drawn to plaid on myself, and find pockets a challenge due to being short waisted.

Speaking as a sewer, I know how hard it is to align plaids so I'm not surprised that they do bias chest pockets so much in RTW. The placement is less tricky and you can use off cut scraps for it. I don't mind bias chest pockets as long as it's not a large irregular plaid (not symmetrical in both directions).

On the whole bust flattery thing, I used to avoid bust pockets like the plague, because I thought it would draw attention to my bust. Then I realized that I'm also really a pear with narrow shoulders, and the pockets did a good job of drawing the eye up visually in general, so I became ok with it. I still avoid flap pockets or anything bulky Ike a besom pocket, though.

I like these examples yet don't think I'd wear them; too modest I guess. I like the Burberry one especially.

Another post that will make me think twice in buying. I wouldn't necessarily notice until NOW. Like once you buy a red car all you see are red cars... (or blue in my cse)

I can tolerate just a single pocket that is mismatched--either on the bias or a mis-matched plaid. To me, that is whimsical. If it's two pockets, for me they must be matched to the base plaid. Weird, huh?

I would have to try it on and see how it looked. It looks fine on the model. How would it look on a real person? I would (like others) worry about the attention the pockets would bring to my bust. For some reasons I like it when the pockets are made from a different plaid.

To me, it's okay in these examples, since it's symmetrical. I don't really like the look of the Ace Delivery example, but more because I think there's too much going on with the yokes on the bias and the pocket plaid offset as well.

Nope. I like pockets generally but do not care for placement of details that bring focus to my chest - well really the lack there of. On top of that, plaid is generally already pretty busy. Putting the pockets on angle places the shirt into the ALGO catorgory for me.

Doesn't bother me. I particularly like the last two examples (I'll take one of each please!), and the third is nice too.

I like it. Adds interest. I like the zip up back on the one I chose, too. http://www.swell.com/SWELL-GWE.....LAID-SHIRT Yeah, I like a few bells and whistles sometimes

OK, my firts reaction was that I don't like pockets on plaid shirts. But to be on the safe side I run to my closet to check if my only plaid shirt maybe has pockets. And it does. And OMG they are diagonally mismatched. LOL So what does it mean, that I like it or that I don't notice this kind of details?

Yes, after looking a few times, it does bother me. Maybe for different reasons though? My eyes are sensitive to certain patterns/contrast due to an eye problem. My eyes are drawn directly to the pockets in these and it's very distracting to me.

I think I prefer a pocketless plaid overall (even though I could use the added bust emphasis) but I guess if it does have pockets, the busyness of the pattern comes into play overall. I don't like to look at a busy pattern or certain high contrasts, so most of these do bother me to look at for very long.

I tend to like plaids like these the most.

I think it does bother me a little for the same reasons as Texstyle and I would prefer no pockets anyway. What seriously bothers me though, is any mis-matching at seams on any garment, grrrr!

Oh, I LOVE this. I like pockets on some of my casual button downs because I am just so small on top ( you know, man boobs....) .

My first choice is "no pockets." But if there are pockets, I don't mind the rotated plaid as long as it looks intentional, and as long as the pockets are high enough that they're not a giant bullseye on my bosoms! LOL

I rather like it. Creates a little excitement

Not so keen though, when it looks like someone just missed the boat. Like a side seam on a pair of trousers that's a 1/4" off.

So how do you feel about them, Angie?

I went right for the Burberry. Wouldn't bother me a bit :)!

I love the Burberry. For me it is about the placement of the pocket.
