Worn on Friday! This was a lucky call for me, because I'm on the East coast and am dressed and at work by the time Angie's Friday blog post is online.
The bottoms are my HEWI Black Watch tartan crops, found at Old Navy a couple of years ago. First wear of the season, as they are a heavier weight and our temps have dropped to freezing overnight. The lightweight cotton sweater is Banana Republic and is a true navy, not as bright as the flash makes it seem.
The houndstooth jacket is a recent thrifting find. I was on the prowl for elegant toppers to complement my navy MOB dress and this Pendleton beauty came home with me despite my moratorium on buying more blazers.
(Hair clipped back and escaping because I am going for a cut today. These cutout booties, from Payless, are perfect for frosty mornings too soon for socks.)
I've worn almost-matching plaids before: Glen check that you have to look real close to see it doesn't match. And black and white alone is easy; with black and white plaid bottoms, I've worn a white and black plaid shirt, or a giant buffalo check sweater, without feeling like I was pushing any boundaries. But this definitely felt like more of a stretch. Did I pull it off?
