What do you think of this J Crew blazer? A few years ago I went on a plaid blazer quest and found one that I love, oversized and perfect as casual outerwear. But recently I’ve been wearing blazers a lot for work and it would be nice to have a lighter weight, more polished option. So this one called out to me online. I’m less sure in person. It may not have the slight edge I usually look for (but some of that is in the styling - it’s not great with these baggy jeans). Lovely wool fabric. The way the sleeves are set in is maybe a little off?

Edit: I also found this second-hand option. It’s a thick cotton/wool blend from & Other Stories and came with matching pants that really aren’t a great fit on me. But I love the shape of the blazer. It’s a tiny bit too small to button well, and the sleeves are too long, of course. But I think it’s more my sort of silhouette. I do worry about pairing the blue and gray plaid with black or gray denim but I think it’ll work. Maybe with a white tee. This one was a great price (used) so I think I’ll pass on the J Crew blazer for now, though its lighter wool is appealing.
