hi all,

I stumbled on a pink tuxedo blazer on a preloved platform. It's from Vanessa Bruno, so I know that quality and cut would be great, and priced at £20. I hope it is ok to share the pictures to show the piece.

I always wanted a tuxedo blazer for eveningwear but I am hesitating as I already have a pink blazer (spring work) as well as a pink faux fur jacket (used for my wedding so it has a sentimental value).

Would this be an unnecessary duplication? Any thoughts on how to tackle this?

Well the pink tuxedo blazer does have a different vibe than the other two, so its not exactly a duplication. I think If you can honestly see some real occasions to wear it to and how the other two wouldn't work as well than it might be worth buying.

For a tuxedo blazer I prefer to stay with classic black, white or velvet. It depends upon how much you think you will wear it and whether you will be happy that it is the right tuxedo blazer for you.

Nice! Do you have mild weather dressy occasions to attend?
The blazer definitely looks more work-ish, and the fur would be for very cold weather, so to me they suit very different needs.

It does look like it would serve a different purpose than the other two. I would do as Dee suggested and evaluate when this would be worn as opposed to the others.

I would wear this with jeans and pink footwear, pretty much everywhere. Dinner, receptions, galleries. The colour makes it more versatile, to me.

I agree with others - this piece would serve a different purpose and despite the similar colour has a very different cut and vibe. So I wouldn't see this as a dupe at all! I love that it would add a colourful twist to the classic tuxedo jacket too.

When you find a color you love and that loves you back, I see no harm in having it in every silhouette. I love a tuxedo blazer, and the pale pink is a delightful twist on a classic.

Dee and Robin, thanks! I think the way the tuxedo differentiate from the other pieces as it is a bit more of a statement and can see some formal dinners/events that I could use it but will need to use it for various years to make it work. Still, as Bijou said, a classic tuxedo is normally black with good reasons.

Suntiger, I have few formal Xmas dinners ahead and also need to plan as a wedding guest for next spring. I am planning (hoping and praying) to move to a different country with a milder weather in some years' time and could imagine more usage.

Olivegreen, yes! I do have some pink shoes and a pink clutch.

Helena, interesting point indeed. Either I choose a colour twist on the tuxedo or stick with a classic black.

Seems like you love and use pink? So if other things are right about it like the measurements and the price, I would be inclined to think that if you use the other two you will use this as well.
I keep items like that for decades, often.

I agree with others that it doesn't look like a duplicate at all, and it seems as though you find that soft blush pink versatile for your wardrobe, so this new addition would be versatile. I say yay!

Ok ok I sent a cheeky offer and it was accepted! I will take it to the dry cleaner once it arrives just to be sure it is ready to be used in the next coming events.

I managed to find a retail image and really liked the lapel. Fingers' crossed!

They are all different. If you love the pink tuxedo blazer and it suits you, you should get it! (Black eveningwear toppers are common, so you can always get a black one if you like so. Getting toppers in your favourite colours might be more difficult.)
