Pink and silver for cruise formal night?

I am going on my first cruise on 3/22! The day before, I will be in a wedding. There will be a "formal dinner" night on the cruise (it's a Carnival cruise, so I doubt people will be wearing tuxes and ballgowns, but I have never been on a cruise so I don't know). I already have to pack my silver strappy wedges and silver accessories, as they are part of my bridesmaid ensemble. I don't want to pack a second pair of dressy shoes. I only own one dress (apart form the bridesmaid dress, and I'm not re-wearing that one). What I'm wondering is, can my pink sheath dress be styled with silver accessories in spring? See below for the collage of what I am thinking about wearing. I suck at dressing up, so all opinions are appreciated!

Sure, why not? The only thing I hesitate about is whether "elegant night" implies a long formal gown. But I think the combination you show here is promising.

Well my friend (who has been on a million Carnival cruises) says there is quite a range of "dressiness" on formal night, and that a short dress is okay,but I'm mot sure on the styling. I wish I owned a LBD but I haven't seen any I like in a size I can wear and a price I am willing to pay for something I will barely ever wear!

I have been on a cruise recently, it does not implies a long formal dress, but many people wear it.
The pink dress is lovely, maybe with other acessories to make it more "night chic":
- an heel, as wedges are less formal
- a night clutch (with some bling)
- a statment necklace

@Rute the weird thing is I added a silver clutch to that set, but I lost it somehow. I am bad at Polyvore lol. I want to wear my wedges simply because they're already packed. Also, they are my only really dressy heels that I can walk in (my only other shoes that go with this dress are cute black slingbacks, but they are verrrry slippery to walk in and horribly uncomfortable) I would have to buy new shoes, which is not easy because I wear a 5.5 and have narrow feet!

I would just buy a LBD but I can't even find anything I like at all (my lifestyle calls for me to wear a dress at weddings and funerals and that is about it!) Also I wear a 00P so there is not much selection. Meh, maybe I should skip formal night lol.

I did find this dress at Loft but didn't buy it because it is boring. But maybe it would work?

I have been on a few cruises and formal night doesn't have to be all that formal. You will likely see a big range of dressiness for formal night. The dress you have choses is fine, and the silver accents will take it up a notch. Have fun!

I agree, the outfit you've put together will be absolutely fine for the occasion. I think you will find long dresses will be in the minority and some people won't even dress up at all.

I've been on 8 or 9 cruises--not Carnival, usually Princess--and you outfit will be fine. As others have said, there will be a range of dressiness. I like formal night because some couples just knock themselves out and it's fun to people watch. DH likes to wear his tux (when else will he wear it?) and I've worn my MOG outfit. Still, I prefer to wear either a dressy pants outfit or a mid-length dress and sparkly accessories. It's silly to buy a formal outfit if you are only going to wear it on the cruise. Unless you want to.

I think your dress is lovely and will look good with silver. If it were me, I might look briefly for a shrug/cardigan that was dressy if the dinner was going to be indoors, because I get cold.

With your size, it might be a bit of a challenge, but places like Ross/Marshalls are also great for when I want a spring, cocktail or formal dress and want to spend less than 20$ for it. (I got a long sleeved navy Calvin Klein wrap dress for 7.50$). As a very infrequent dress wearer, it's also fun to try on a wide variety of looks that I find at these stores.

You don't sound like you'd be very bothered to be one of the less-dressy ladies in the room, and it's hard to get a new outfit, so I think that you'll be fine. No one will worry about it in the long run.

Really, I think it's more important to wear a really nice-fitting dress-- lots of time I'll see someone in a dressy dress or outfit that you just know they "settled" on, because it can be hard to find the right thing, and it isn't flattering at all.

I empathize with footwear and so would compensate with the best bling for you and the dress--if the neckline doesn't like a necklace, then sparkly earrings, bracelets. If you have these or are willing to purchase (usually can get okay price point) then you could go very sparkly, with a pink dress, and that plus clutch and shoes would fit the intent of the evening.

I think your planned outfit sounds nice for the formal night. I've been on several cruises, including some on Carnival, and there will be a broad interpretation of the word "formal". You will fit right in - you won't be the dressiest but you won't be under dressed either.
