This is easily the hardest for me... and it is teaching me things about my wardrobe holes or future buying requirements. I love the vibrant and intricate cover but don't really have things that do it justice... and I would like to!

While yesterday's challenge taught me I can go sombre top to toe and like it with the right, light accessories (metal and crystal rather than legwarmers though), today's is reminding me I want more pattern in the closet.

My old t-shirt is on its way out. Last season. But okay for an at-home day for one last season. The colours and pattern were quite apt though.The pants still don't fit right over the postbaby tum... but still holding on to hope. Ideally I would wear faux pearls set in goldtone chains to bring the yellow in and echo the sheer richness of ornamentation. If the pants were not highwaisted i would have added a belt with rivets and ornate buckle. But right now, this is as maximal as I want to go. My phone will do till I find the right yellow bag or shoes.

I love your top Manidipa! And the color combo is awesome!

This one was *easy* for me This top of mine should have been a no-brainer but it took me a while to remember I could use it for today's challenge o_O! It has a tribal feel to it and the colors seem to be an exact match to the inspiration cover! I would normally tone down the top with neutral shoes, but today is color extravaganza ........ so red faux toms it is And look ..... I even found a red guitar in DS's toy box

Hi all! It was very very challenging for me to do today's cover, as I don't have much color or prints in my wardrobe, but I do have this one(nr.1)! This abstract paisley is as maximal and psichedelic as one can be (esp for the office!), don't you think?

Then, thought a leather skirt (and DD's hat in nr.3) will give somehow a toughter background for her guitar(in nr. 4) and the wonderwoman pose will hold back everybody from messing up with me at work(nr. 5).

Nr. 6 shows actually how approchable can one look in this outfit for a common workday in the office, nr. 7 shows some more details. (Pointing out that unfortunatelly I'm up a few pounds for a while, so it's not often that I go tucked in and belted nowadays, you can pat me on the back for doing this. Plus, I have the same waistcoat on from yesterday-It was a lifesaver for me to hide some of that busy print somehow, otherwise would have been looking after smelling salts all day).

I never did leather skirt with this particular shirt together before, as felt much more maximal than I am at heat, but happy I adventured to try the feeling for a day.

Mani and Neel, it seems we thought the same way picking up a quircky print for picturing the chaos on the cover, loved both your interpretations:-) BTW, Mani, you forgot to reffer to your gorgeous, as surrealistic and maximal as can be, background! It's such a beautifully ornamented iron fence there-perfectly suitable for Santana's latin inspired music!

ETA: Ha! It was almost end of the day when I noticed that my handycraft antique silver ring also matches the maximal of Santana's cover(and music!) in terms of the rich 3D floral ornaments it has:-).

I also planned to wear a wild print. I thought the Hard Pock Cafe pins from the 80's helped carry the theme. This is on the hanger yet because it turned very cold and I will probably have to wear something warmer, at least this morning.
ETA: what I am actually wearing to go sort stuff in a cold empty store. I still have hopes of wearing the first outfit to a choral concert tonight. Red jeans, cobalt shirt over a turquoise tee and my Our Lady of Guadalupe scarf from Japan.

Neel's t-shirt is perfect for this! I also love Lyn's take with the hat, leather skirt, and paisley. And I think Hestonian and I picked the same color scheme!

For the third day in a row, the shoes (or slippers) were what persuaded me to participate. Today, it was my little-worn cowboy boots.

The dress and cardigan are there to capture the colors and hectic, festive mood. And the dots on the dress also look kind of like bubbles from Santana champagne. I added the same dangly earrings as yesterday for a little more maximal-ness. The boots are a nod to the Southwest, and the delicate curving lines on the stitching remind me of the feel of the album cover. (Although I have to admit I switched them out for cognac booties to go to work.)

I knew this would be a fun one and I love all these prints. Lyn you are having way too much fun with this. Joy you get the prize for your fab print and pin collection (even if you don't actually get to wear it today) I had DH snap a quick shot this morning (nice hair and no editing). This cover inspired me to wear my crazy pants to work! Hurray for me! Added a Theory bright sweater, white button down (to calm it a bit) and navy BR blazer. I almost went with red pumps but like these burgundy pointy toes better since I'm still not 100% sure of the length of these pants. I have a statement necklace on too that simulates embellished sweater (If this album cover isn't license to go maximal I don't know what is)
Looking forward to more color throughout the day.

Wow - all your interpretations look great and are so different from each other! I'm sitting this one out. I had an outfit picked out but it snowed last night and I needed warmer clothes and better shoes than I had planned for the challenge.

Aubergine, I love the asociation to the Santana champagne, as loved it yesterday wearing your piggie slippers:-) Also Jjsloane, how daring! You decided to wear your crazy pants to work-and you werent fired, yet? I hope so!(and still look fab!:-)). Sarah L. you should post your outfit at least on the hanger(like Joy) and so we can still have fun!

All great outfits here, and was also delighted from all those from yesterday! Of course I cannot catch up to comment an all, but had big fun looking at them in the morning!

I hope it's not too late to join in on this! I've been travelling and didn't see the posts until last night.

I don't have a ton of prints in my wardrobe, but I do have a lot of colorful items. I saw the cover last night and was immediately inspired by the color palette. And since it's currently -20C/-4F outside today, I wanted to be warm and cozy.

I grabbed my Gap burgundy skinny cords and JCrew purple sweater, which is the warmest item in my wardrobe. Bookended with brown Sorel boots to keep warm as I now head out to catch the bus to work. Wish me luck in staying warm!

I have been anxiously waiting for this one! I knew the minute I saw it that I would use this silk scarf! It has all the colors except the green but at least it has a floral/leaf motif. And for the fanciful creatures I added a tiger brooch at my shoulder. White accessories are for the white writing!

I had very colourful and very ALGO plans for today, but the weather had basically gotten in the way and I had to keep warm.

Still, I tried to stay as faithful to the vibrant colour scheme, so I have purple woollen sweater, colourful woollen scarf from Ireland and red fleece hat. Happy clothes for the cover of the album I had spent (and still do) many happy hours listening.

As I was taking selfies my son was looking at the photos from behind the camera, and then he started suggesting how I should actually pose

Love all the outfits posted so far! You've done well.

For me being comfortable was the most important thing today - I would have normally just worn my sweatpants and oversized fleece shirt all day. I've tried to find a just as comfortable alternative that fit better to today's picture and here's what I came up with! I think it looks rather fancy for lounge wear.

Ornella, you're a riot with that pose!

So by now, it should come as no surprise that I like color, but wow, this is a lot of color! I started with my favorite red pants and a marine blue blouse. I was having a mental block on the green because of the red pants, but then I remembered an old silk scarf that had red tomatoes and green leaves on a dark blue background. Rather than wear it normally, I tied it like a bandeau so just a bit would peak out. An orangey/yellowy gold necklace, my yellow leather cuff and leopard shoes finished it off.

Heh, I could really stretch and say Santana Day is similar to Santa Day and I'm wearing red in December. Yeah, too much of a stretch I guess. I didn't plan to wear any of the challenges this week but ended up in things that had an outside tie in to each theme if you really reach. 6 degrees of separation and all that.

This one was surprisingly difficult for me. Although I love patterns, I don't have very many tribal-inspired patterns, and my closet is very heavy on the blues/cool colors but not so much on the warm colors. I like the finished product but I'm not sure it really reflects the album cover very well. And I'm kicking myself for forgetting to add my orange scarf!

I picked my tattoo-style rose-print tee because the orangey reds of the flowers reflect the bright oranges of the album cover, and the green leaves remind me of the foliage at the lower left and right. I topped it off with my cobalt blazer to bring in the other predominant tone of the inspiration, the saturated blue. My cognac boots also suggest the warm orangey tones. Finally, I added a vintage embroidered belt, because the bright colors and small, busy print reminded me of the artwork as well.

Wore an oversized fleece top with a red and purple pattern….paired with a pencil skirt and booties to make it (somewhat) work appropriate.

Santana always makes me think of summer, and hot temps - I wasn't sure how to evoke that in the middle of a December cold snap. But when Gwynnie Bee sent me this dress I thought the colors worked well for some summery 'hot' colors. Worn with a chocolate brown cord blazer and one of my grandmother's vintage brooches.

Posting this quickly before I run out for errands and will be back to comment on the other looks. I also packed most of my brights away for winter, so this is one of my most vibrant dresse left. It's a vintage paisley dress that I'm wearing with a red tank dress under, a gold sash belt and black tights and boots. I tried it on with my pink and purple cardigan but will probably leave it off.

I knew that Santana today demanded my red skinny jeans, and probably with purple or deep blue on top. But it wasn't until I looked at this thread this morning that I realized that what it really needed was some hectic pattern.

The perfect hectic pattern was in my probation bin. But I thought it was worth digging out just for today - and I'm glad I did, because I actually like this look.

(looking at the photo, I realize the shoes are wrong - my burgundy boots would be better - I'll change before I go out tonight on a date).

It makes me feel happy to be in such bright cheery colors.

(Oh, and I decided to upstage my photo bomber by making my own faces...)
