I was the last one for the Abbey Road (only posted my version a few minutes ago) and I see am the first one today! Yeah, advantages/and disadvantages of beeing located over the sea...

Sorry, but for today's challenge, I just couldn't do those (otherwise fab) colors for the office-and that really let me down a bit...

BUT I'm not here for nothing! I guess a true fabber has to work with what has in her closet!

So, I let myself inspired rather by her lyrics.

I started with some "Mary Jane"s(nr1-3), put "..my sweater on backwards and inside out"(not jocking, see it in nr.4-5:-)) and then put one "Hand in my pocket"(nr.2,7). Done!.

Oh, and I teamed it all with my DD's scull scarf(nr.6) for more warmth in my cowl under the coat, and if possible, for some more rocker vibes, too:-).

Than I cheated some:

-I surelly turned back the sweater on the right side (nr. 7) but still forgot my hand in the pocket:-). Then, I put on my knee high boots and went with my puffer for the first time this winter (as was-5°C in the morning)and my hand is finally out of that pocket! See?:-)

This outfit put a big smile on my face while dressing, and sometimes you can see it's still there....

Ha, you're having Fun, aren't you, Lyn? Love the buckles and belt, and the inside out sweater.

I cosied both hands into my favorite cardigan pockets and put on a jagged-edged ikat print tunic. And strutted into my new boots. Once upon a time I had Alanis-ish long wavy hair. Now it's pixie-short practical. No matter, measy is still easy. I don't really need the green scarf but my jade beads count as a choking hazard these days. Glad to wear my cobalt belt out after a long while though.

As for pills, I am reaching for the paracetamol today. Migraine and a cold (or flu?), but it's my day to do some drilling and nail hammering too.

Manidipa, it looks great. The colors are just right. I hope you feel better soon!

My outfit is very loosely based on the inspiration. I had some of the colors in my wardrobe, but wasn't able to build some weather appropriate outfits with the pieces and I needed something practical for my day. In the end I built this outfit entirely around the scarf, which I thought fit well.

My inspiration was based the green tones, teal being the closest thing to green I have. This turtleneck is probably on its way out of my wardrobe as the sleeves begin to look too busy to my eye, but I'm giving it one more chance as I love the colour.

Lyn, Manidipa, Astrid, and Ornella all look great!

I was going to watch from the sidelines for this challenge, but I couldn't resist breaking out my new black lace-up ankle boots for today.

I channeled the '90s with a little floral dress and cardigan to go with the lace-up boots. The red/purple shades and watercolor effect of the pattern on the dress are reminiscent of the colors on the cover. The purple stones on the earrings are shaped kind of like pills. And long, wavy brown hair with bits flopping into my face? I've totally got that down!

I had several choices for this one, but I'm not sure this was my favorite. I ended up rushing this morning, and this seemed the easiest. Red cashmere sweater and Joe's skinnies I found at NR a couple weeks ago. Added the necklace for a touch of green, but it's more jade, so I figured my shades added a bit of Flavia-inspired color. Sorry for the wonky car shot. My daughter has this mastered, apparently I don't;-)

I used green and purple as the colors from the album. My lace-up boots are the closest thing I have to Dr. Martin's, and I used my darkest lipstick because that was a thing in the 90's...(-;

I'm not really wearing this today; I have an interview so I am wearing something dressier (and less colorful).

I wasn't totally thrilled with my outfit; I think I did OK with the inspiration, but I realized that I dislike this sweater - It's pilling and I don't think the color suits me. I also dislike wearing a button-down under a sweater as it just never feel right to me. It always feels like something is out of place.

I took my inspiration from the video for You Oughta Know where Alanis is dressed in black and white. My ipad blocks it but I'm wearing a knotted Celtic pendant and on my fingers, some chunky rings.

Jagged Little Pill had a big impact on my teen years. It wasn't my favorite album but You Oughta Know was the first time I had heard a female voice that was _so_ angry and so in pain. I had heard female rockers before but they always seemed more sexy and provocative than angry. It's unfortunate how she first got labelled as fake because of her pop beginnings and then later, because of her massive popularity, a clichė.

My favorite song, though, is Perfect. Even as a teacher years later, I played that song for my kids and it hits very deep. Especially in Asia where it's still not uncommon to hear parents calling their kids "stupid" as part of a scolding.

I swear, sometimes it's just too easy! I think whoever designed the fabric for this dress must have done so with the album cover propped up on the drafting table!!

I always find interesting to see what each person takes away from the inspiration photo.
For me the lace up booties were pretty easy to come up with and I have been meaning to wear this dress for some time now. And then I thought "what about the scarf I got for my birthday this year?", the colours are kind of psychedelic as the colours in the cover .
Also with the statics of this time of year the crazy hair was not difficult to achieve.

Great looks everyone! Celia and MaryK, you must have had a sixth sense this challenge was in the future when you picked up those items with exactly the same colors as the album!

Wish I had thought more creatively about the songs. . . there are so many great lyrics on this album. Anyway, I was inspired by the colors on the cover, and the word "jagged" made me want to wear pointy shoes.
My Jagged Little Pill outfit: wine cords (Eddie Bauer), white layering tee (Caslon), purple boxy sweater with zipper up the back and side pockets (Caslon), tie-dyed scarf (Asian Eye), purple specs, brown belt (B-Low the Belt), brown metallic booties (Donald Pliner). I tried a pose that mimicked the cover, for fun, too.

I'll be back to check everyone's outfit more carefully later -- have to post and run now!

Like others, I took my inspiration from the colours. I am giving a memoir writing workshop this afternoon so hope I look appropriate. I suspect my students will think I am overdressed.

Wearing Halogen seamed skirt, Eileen Fisher teal knit shirt, watercolour silk scarf from China, white leather jacket from Danier, La Canadienne boots (note the smooth little pills on the sides) and London Fog trench.

The black coat is because I wanted to inject some darkness. It's an interesting paradox that this angry album has such a (superficially) "pretty" cover.

I am the exact opposite. In fact, today I was grateful that I have such a functional wardrobe. I only started with the vague idea that I wanted to wear my fuchsia jacket, that's how the colors on the left looked like to me. But I realized that I want to wear it with a soft, roomy, but not too casual long-sleeved white T, which is a big wardrobe hole right now. (I am putting that on my list). So I put together another outfit with my purple pants. Then I decided that that outfit was too casual for work, and finally came up with a third outfit that I felt good in.

Firecracker you cracked me up with your pose:-) Wow, lots a good outfits here. Loved the ones wich were matching psichedelic colors (and prints) with the cover: Mary K, Suz, Firecracker, astrid, Celia, Jenava, Carter, Mani, Aubergine YallLF! Fella Ornella, Mani and those of you with hands in a pocket are spot on interpreting some of her lyrics. Oh, and it's obvious Peacechic and Bella "oughta know" something about the power of black'n and whites:-).

Drat! I had my hand-in-pocket pose all planned out and completely forgot to do it because I was in such a hurry to snap the pic and get out of the house this morning. I'm considering retaking the photo when I get home.

I drew my inspiration from the colors of the album cover. I never would have worn red, purple, and blue together otherwise. It looks good to my eye, and I suppose it should when I consider that purple is just red and blue mixed together. I wanted flowy hair for today's look, but I didn't have time to get into the salon this past weekend. If I could change one thing (other than my forgotten pose), it would be the footwear. More and more I'm realizing I need a pair of white Cons.

Like MaryK, I found this one easy (the hard part was my skirt was packed at the very bottom of my suit case).

When I saw the album cover I knew I would wear this skirt. I think it captures the color and the chaos.

I haven't had a chance to look through everyone else's entries. I can hear the little guy waking up and want to get my picture up before I need to get him.

I immediately thought of this scarf when I saw the album cover so went with neutrals in the rest of the outfit to show off the scarf.

Jenava, I like the lavender and green together, and I sympathize with the sweater-over-collared-shirt discomfort. (I can handle it better with silk shirts, though.)
