Pics of some of my NAS items

1. Bernardo neoprene puffer (poseidon) size M with detachable zip bib/hood removed. Worn with 2021 NAS Rag and Bone Chelsea boots, Rag &Bone beanie hat (old), TNF neon yellow hoodie and scarf from local art fair. Pic 2 is the same minus the beanie and the scarf.

3&4. Nordstrom cashmere crew sweater first with jeans and then with NYDJ plaid Ponte pants.

5. ATM cardigan styled with Nordstrom layering tee, NYDJ Marilyn jeans, The Office of Angela Scott shoes (not in sale), and I pulled back my hair a bit because I am wearing the Lana earrings that are in the sale (Mine are old). You can see how big this cardigan is (size S). It’s possibly too big but I love how soft and light it feels. I buttoned it in the pictures but would probably wear it open.

6. A better pic of the fading on the NYDJ Marilyn jeans. The rise is short so they really work best with my longer blazers...(not keeping the jeans)

7. Halogen cutout shirt (burgundy) styles with J Brand jeans, and a l'agence cardigan. It may be hard to see but I am also wearing some old burgundy Stuart W. Booties. I am fairly certain the line that looks like a pull across my chest is a fold line....I also have a lip color that's almost the exact match to the top.
8. A rare gear pic! Athleta top and shorts (old) along with my new TNF hoodie (on sale from Nordies but not part of NAS). Naot Sandals purchased for this summer.
9/10. I thought I would love this navy Bernardo coat..... DH hated it...he says it looks like a big tube! Its very lightweight, but the sleeves are knit and have a loose sweater like texture...I'm worried it will snag...

ETA: Bernardo jacket in size small - pics 11/12. I like the length and looser fit of the medium ...its a little longer, the small is sleeker but a little snug in the arms with layers.

Wow, you look amazing in gear! Love everything except for the long jacket. I thought it had potential but now I can’t unsee what your DH sees. The teal jacket is a slam dunk as are the long cardigans. Ponte pants fit beautifully and same goes for the sweater and blazer. I’d be hard pressed to pick a favorite! You made some great selections!!

Now I’m concerned that Bernardo teal jacket will be too small for me — this is a M, you say? Sounds like it runs small. The size chart indicates a M is an 8-10 which should put it solidly in my size range?

Janet, the small fits me but felt a bit snug in the arms when wearing layers. It may be hard to tell from these pictures but the sides have stretchy neoprene panels. It’s a very forgiving fit….the medium is big on me….I will try to add pics of the small to this message….

LOVE that teal jacket. Love the blue sweater with both the jeans and grey pants. Really love the pink lagence long cardigan. I have cold-weather envy since I live in a very hot place with no need for cute puffer jackets ! You look so cute !

Hmm, thanks! I’ll temper my expectations of that jacket — I am concerned if you find the arms snug. We shall see!

The cardigan in #5 is gorgeous on you - a great colour and a sleek fit. I love the way you’ve styled it with the tonal top.
The larger size of the Bernardo jacket is probably the best choice, depending on how many layers you plan to wear. The turquoise cashmere sweater could be great underneath, adding warmth without bulk.

The teal puffer is gorgeous on you. I'd go with the medium. And I am really eager to try it, too, in the grey, probably. Though I love the teal it will be harder for me to work into my wardrobe.

That's too bad about the longer Bernardo coat. I actually think it is kind of cool in a way, but I hear you about the sleeves -- not practical. NEXT!

LOVE the long grey cardigan and the Halogen cutout top. I'm really hoping at least one of those grey cardigans is available at the Canadian sale (which doesn't start for a few days).

Sounds the NYDJ are not the right ones -- you wear jeans easily and well, so some you prefer will come along soon.

I think 7 and 9 are my faves! Not used to seeing you in saturated color and I think both are really flattering. To bad hub doesn't like the puffer: I think it's a really cute modern look!

nostaf, your comment about liking me in more saturated colors makes me think that I may better suit more uniform hues than anything heathered or mottled. When I received the teal colored Nordstrom crew neck I felt disappointed that it’s color was heathered and not uniform as I had anticipated. I plan to look at this more carefully as it may help me understand why I wear certain items more than others……and it may prevent some shopping errors in the future.

The navy puffer may work over a blazer, the knit sleeves are very forgiving and may allow ease of movement which may be a good reason to keep it….I usually have to remove my blazer and carry it separately or I feel too restricted.

Suz, grey cardigans are essentials for my wardrobe all year. I’m so happy this one worked because I have been hunting for one this weight for a while. I hope the grey jacket and cardigans will be available and work out for you when the Canadian sale opens. The color will look amazing with your hair! In fact, if the grey jacket had lighter zippers, it would have been my first pick. I agree the grey is a more versatile neutral. I think you will look amazing in the burgundy colored cutout top….it’s one of my favorite colors for you…..

suntiger, yes, the teal jacket is nice…

missvee, the Nordstrom brand layering tee is the same grey as the ATM sweater. I considered returning the tee, because some of the reviews say it pills easily, but the tonal match is excellent, so I’m planning to hand wash and hang it dry to minimize friction when washing. Also, I like the idea of the tonal layering of the sweater and jacket……

cat2, yes, I plan to keep the larger puffer….I added pics of the fit of the smaller puffer so Janet or anyone else interested could see the difference. It may run small. The navy puffer in a size small is very roomy……

Janet, I suspect you are right about the teal jacket running a bit small….crossing my fingers that it works for you….

Beth0707, you made me laugh by saying you have cold weather envy! The l’agence cardigan is 100% cotton. It’s my current summer layer for rooms with a/c blasting. The color which is a pinky tan…maybe taupe…seems to coordinate well with the rest of my wardrobe.

BarbaraDiane…I hope it works for you. I preferred it without the bib and hood…..

Kellygirl….thanks….I find that I have become better at selecting items that will work for me, not perfect, but I have many fewer returns than in the past. Defining my style and color palette and learning which brands fit me has helped. Bernardo is new to me and the fits seem inconsistent.,,,one jacket a small is roomy and large and in another it’s a bit snug……

I love your selections! I think both the small and the medium teal Bernardo look great on you! But I also know from experience that a too-loose topper can be tiring to wear, if you’re fighting it because it’s moving around. May I ask if are you petite? I was eyeing the teal jacket, but seeing it on you makes me think it might hang over my hands, and past-COVID, I haven’t found a good seamstress for alterations.

I don’t think the other Bernardo jacket looks anymore like a tube than any other long puffer, and I think it’s cute, except the potential to snag would be a deal-breaker for me.

I see what you’re saying about the fading on the jeans, I think you mentioned in a previous post that it was too much.

Marybeth, I have never tried petite sizes….although you are not the first person to ask. I am just shy of 5’9” and I usually fit a standard size (small, 4-6), or a small tall size (which is hard to find….most tall sized lines start with mediums). My arms must be proportionally long because the sleeves on tops and tailored items are frequently too short unless I size up…..and then the torso fit gets too big. The teal Bernardo has long sleeves on the small…probably because the cuff is designed as a partial hand warmer with thumb holes. If sleeves tend to be too long for you, the teal jacket is likely to need tailoring….

Rachy, thanks! I never thought I could wear deep colors but if I use a few tweaks I can manage them…..in one if the outfits there is column of deep tones covered by a lighter hued long cardigan. In the other I have light shoes to bookend my hair, a light top, and in both I am wearing charcoal grey glasses frames, instead of thin wire frames or my silhouettes. Sometimes I wear pearls to create some light right below my face.

Thanks for the helpful comments everyone….I returned the Rag &Bone booties (pictured in 1,2&3) because they are too hard to put on and take off. I need a zipper on the side! For now if I want a pointy toe boot that height, I can use my old and trusty silver boots.

Also returned are the NYDJ Marilyn jeans, the navy Bernardo Jacket, the small teal Bernardo jacket.

Keeping the burgundy cutout top, the grey cardigan and the teal Bernardo jacket….size medium. I’m leaning towards keeping the teal cashmere crew sweater……still not fully decided.

Looking forward to seeing that teal coat on others who also ordered it….

I love the teal color on you. Glad you are keeping. I quite liked the navy coat but snagging wouldn't be good so makes sense. And I love the long gray cardigan - super cute and will be versatile!
