Pics of me!

Hi all - here are a couple of pictures of me, so you can get an idea of my body type. I appologize for the picture quality. I had NO idea it would be so tricky to take pictures of myself in the mirror, in my poorly lit bedroom.

Anyway, I believe I'm an hourglass with a prominent shoulder. What do you all think?

Hi Christine, and congrats on posting your first photos, I know that it can be nerve-racking. You look very cute and I like your outfits.

I am afraid that they are not clear enough for the body type determination. I'd say hourglass ( with average shoulders), but can not be quite sure. Could you take&post a photo in which you are wearing tight jeans and t-shirt, arms down by the side?

Hi Christine! Welcome to the forum. Tanya has a good suggestion for the body type photo. I like the outfits in the pictures you posted.

When I take pictures in the mirror I try to turn on as many lights as possible and if it is daylight, I will open the blinds to let in more light. Also, I take multiple pictures and then pick the best one out of the bunch. Luckily my camera has an image stabilization feature which helps make the pictures less blurry.

Also, if you have a picture editing program like Picasa (which I believe is free) you can brighten up and sharpen the pictures.

I have found the best way for me to take pictures is to set the camera on a flat surface and then use the self timer.

Yep, we DO have the same body! At least, I think we do. How tall are you? I'm 5'8 1/2 and weigh around 157.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try to take a better body shot this weekend. I can enlist my boys to act as photographers for me - they love taking pictures!

BLB - I'm 5' 6" and weigh about 140 (first thing in the morning wearing nothing - lol). I agree that we are very close! I was noticing that when I was looking at your pics earlier.

I'm happy to have a Canadian body twin on the forum! I was curious so I divided my weight by my height, and did the same for yours, and we have very similar results (25 for you, 26.8 for me). I hope that means we'll be able to give each other lots of great tips. I'm going to check out Reitmans tops today based on your rec.

It IS hard to take pics in the mirror, but Violet has good tips.

BLB - I'm excited that we're so close to the same size, and in the same country as well. It also seems we have similar problems with our wardrobes, in that they need some overhauling (from what I've gathered from your other posts about finishing school & moving to your next phase in life). Hopefully we'll be able to give each other some great advice. The top I'm wearing in these pics is from Reitmans - I got it in the spring. They seem to do a good job of designing clothes for real women that often emphasize the natural waist in some way. Happy shopping!

Welcome Christine! I’d go with hourglass too, but ideally, you in a pair of jeans with a form fitting top a little closer up would allow for a better deduction.
