Last year, I bought a red coat on a whim. I love it, so when I picked a small capsule of clothes for this fall, I tried to work with the coat that I already owned.

I'm trying to figure out how to expand on what I already own and am wondering about other colors. It seems to me whether I look good in a color depends on the lighting, how I feel, whether I smile or not, what else I wear it with, etc vs. a particular color, although some stuff is probably horrible on me.

Do you have any suggestions for me? I don't even know what "neutral" to focus on. When I spend a good deal of time in the sun, my hair has auburn highlights and I tan fairly easily. I have dark brown eyes and hair. My eyebrows are darker than the rest of my hair. Historically, I've gravitated towards browns and ivories as neutral, white and gray have been ok, and I've avoided black, but that has just been personal preference vs. whether something looks good or not (I have preferred to fade into the background). I've look good in peach if I am tanned. I wear both gold and silver jewelry. The veins on my wrist are a mix of purple and green.
