Picking a dress

Getting ready for this trip is going to give me a nervous breakdown. I
am not a great traveler and we are in the countdown to departure now.
It's the getting ready part that always seems so overwhelming.

I need your advice again. Which of these looks best. I bought the black and white one for a party and although I liked it at the time, I really don't like the pictures. I think that I look short and wide in it. Maybe the trouble is that at only 5'4" it is too busy for my frame.

The green dress is very comfortable and I like the black lace skirt as I feel like it is easy to dress up and down.

What do you think?

I think the print dress is completely amazing on you. I thought you were the model because I was expecting short and wide and you were so not. Can you take another look?

I would recommend number 2 and 5.
Because they are flowy and you can move freely on them.

Wow the black and white dress looks lovely on you. I am unsure if these photos are styled in terms of what you would wear with the dress but I think you need a more refined shoe with the black and white dress. It's kind of asking for a pump or an ankle strap sandal with a little bit of height (heel).

The black skirt is lovely and you are right it should be easy to dress up or down. And the green dress is pretty. Flattering style and lovely colour and it looks great with black.

I really like the print dress (#1) too - but I have a soft spot in my heart for skirts when you travel because of the mix and match potential.

I agree with Deborah that the print dress probably needs a more refined shoe - I'd wear a nude pump with it; but that's my go to all the time now.

The green pics 5&6 the best I can see it as being very versatile. And in no way shape or form are you wide but being vertically challenged is something I deal with so I can understand. But pic one the dress is so lovely on you espically with your hair color.

First of all, take a deep breath. Try not to stress out. Travel can be stressful but if you relax you will enjoy it more.

I vote for the B&W dress but I must admit I don't know the event or circumstances. Can you remind us or link to a previous post with details?

I like the green dress too, I feel most comfortable in it. I will leave the B&W at home as I won't be taking any heels. This will be a walking & touring trip so they will just take up room.

While we are on our trip we have a couple of suppers to go to. One is a welcome reception to meet all of our fellow travellers and there is a farewell supper at the end. I thought it would be nice to have something a little above dressed up jeans.

Is this the big Africa trip?
I like the green dress as well. I think it's easy to dress up and down. I like the black and white, but don't think it goes "down" as easily.

Another vote for the green dress. Part of the appeal of the green dress for me is that I find it suits your beautiful complexion more than black, or b/w.

I love the B&W on you, but for this trip, the green will be more versatile, especially given your footwear limitations.

The green is an excellent choice.

Btw, yes, I agree you look great in #1 but the shoes are a mismatch.

I don't know about the lace skirt. Needs a drapey top.
