Pick the best colours game

Here are some photos of me in different colours.

I always thought I looked best in the light pink but now I’m not so sure.
I wonder if the red is overpowering?
How do you feel about the black?

One thing is that I love the red hat. It is less orange in real life.

I think my personal colour preferences come into play.

My thoughts:

#1 You sure can wear black! I really like the clarity of your skin and eyes against it.

#2 - The jacket is charcoal? A little meh directly against your skin. Like the color isn't saturated enough. All of this could be the camera.

#3 Your eye color pops against this palette.

#4 I can't decide. I like that the light color of the hat brings light to your face, but I feel like I want the hat to be a little more peach-toned, a closer match to the lightest tones in your skin.

#5 Love the red!

#6 Love the jacket against your skin and eyes! But... this is the same jacket as #2, right? It must be the camera and lighting.

Yay! I'll play! My observations:

You wear black and all the cool neutrals really well. But that pewter colour (3 & 6 I think?) is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING on you. It is so perfect I can't even stand it. That is definitely "your black" imo!
The light pink is super-pretty on you, but I feel like you need something darker with it - try pairing it with the pewter and I think that would be absolutely gorgeous and perfect.
Love the red! It is strong on you, but it definitely works.

Slightly off-topic perhaps, but since I enjoy color analysis so much myself... Are you cool toned, you'd say? I see a summer here! Now, you also look radiant in black, so not sure I am right. You look great in all the colours!

Yes, Synne, I think I have the same colouring as my favourite princess (who is my imaginary BFF) Kate.

Ma Belle: my BF likes black on me too. I’m happy to hear it looks good as I like the simplicity of it.

The main problem is I don’t love those greyed-out colours, or super soft pastel colours, so that pewter/charcoal jacket is not my favourite. But I agree with you TG that it is a good colour for me.

Haha! We do have similar colouring - and similar problems working out our seasons and things, as there is some ambiguity to our colours (if I can speak for us Smittie!)

If I was guessing today, I would say you're a true (the old-school four season kind) or maybe a cool winter. So a bit of that cool softness, but still, you are quite saturated, and wear black exceedingly well.

I agree with torontogirl that the pewter is especially stunning on you but you can wear black, red and pink. I suspect that navy blue would look even better than black or pewter grey as a dark neutral. Kate looks wonderful in deep blues so I think you would too.

Because you're very pretty with gorgeous skin, you probably look great is almost everything. However, I think the black and red are particularly striking on you.

Pretty all around - however I love grey in #3 and red on you.
Lucky you looking so nice in black, charcoal and red - colors that often difficult to pull off.

I like you best in the greys and reds. But colours say something on their own and it’s not like you look bad in black or pink. I feel their occasions for all.

You wear them all well. And red or pink lipstick or lipgloss would be the finishing touch! Looks like you are a Winter. Other seasons seldom look that gorgeous in charcoal.

I like them all - the red is stunning and the charcoal is gorgeous. I like pink and light grey too. And I think you can wear black. Fun to experiment.

I really like how the red and grey accentuate your beautiful complexion and eye color. Also, you are one of the lucky ones for whom black is a flattering color. I concur with Angie and would love to see you in blue, especially navy.

You look gorgeous in all of them! I love the red and grey the best, but the pink is also really pretty (although I agree with TG that it might work even better if your jacket or scarf were darker -- a bit of contrast is good. Black is good, too, although navy would likely be better. (But then, I would say that, right?)

You are gorgeous, so this is really splitting hairs. The red is my favourite in the hats. I think the pewter jacket is a bit softer than the black, but sometimes it is fun to go with the streamlined simplicity of black. Both are great to my eye.

Love the red and charcoal hats on you, the pink a little less so. Your hair and eyes look really pretty with the charcoal grey hat in #3. And I think you look great in black; I suspect you wear navy really well too.

Love a deep teal, Karen. It is the best colour on me.

BUT for some reason I never buy it. I think I prefer the classic navy.

Angie and others who suggested blue/navy: I have some navy and medium blue things on order! Blue is more my jam than black.

Good advice on some lip colour, The Cat. I need to find something I’m comfortable in, as most lip colour feels really really strange. Maybe something matte would work better as I have always used glossy finishes in the past.

Lots of love for black!

I think Spring/summer is shaping up to be a BLUE and WHITE period.

I’m still learning a lot about what colours suit me, and what colour combinations I prefer. Thanks for your feedback!

This is fun. I agree with a lot of others here. The slate gray puffer (3 & 6) is gorgeous with your eyes. The red hat is amazing on you. I want to love the pink, but I want it to be a little deeper shade to really complement your skin tone. I think clear, rather than heathered, tones are your friends.
