Petite Size Jacket - Does This Fit?

I'm shopping for a leather jacket, and this one only comes in petite in this color.
This is a size 6P. (I've also got a 4P coming to try.)
I usually don't wear P because I have broad shoulders and (I think) my torso is not P.
However - I have very short arms and legs.
This 6P fits pretty well at the shoulders and the arms are almost perfect.
The waist feels a little high.
Does it look like it fits or does it look like the scale is off?

I like it. I agree that the shoulders and arms look great. The waist might be a tad higher than your actual waist, but I like that too -- it draws the eye up. I see a lot of "schoolboy" shrunken blazers around these days, and it's kind of the same as that look.

I agree; to my untrained eye, the fit looks great. I even want to know which brand of jacket this is. It's beautiful.

Mochi - it's this one. The leather is GORGEOUS - like buttah! (But at that price, I need to make sure the fit is perfect!)

Hm, I'm not 100% sure of the length, since I don't know where your hips are. If this were a top, would it expose your belly? It looks better in #2 since less of your sweater is peeking out the bottom, but that could just be how it hangs when open.

And I think it looks good. Is it hitting around the top of your hip bone? I find that a nice length on jackets...allows you to get away with wearing with either pants or skirts.

How much higher than your waist IS that waist....or is it higher at all? It's really hard to tell from the picture, maybe because you're wearing a sweater, too, which makes it harder to see where your waistline is. Does it feel comfortable?

From the pictures the fit looks brilliant. The length looks good to me and I think your figure type allows for a slightly shorter length.

I agree the fit in the arms, bust and shoulders look great. Looking at the model, it's meant to be almost a cropped type of blazer. So if that's what you're going for, this fits the bill.

However as I write this I realize, I have no idea what the new ways are to style such a cropped jacket. Checking my shopping crack source for inspiration, I found these:

So, there are both shorter tops and longer tops being worn. But the longer tops underneath the cropped jacket is reserved more for an asymmetrical or cutaway type jacket, not the conventional hem jacket.

Oh, I have those problems too! Definitely petite length arms and legs, but whenever I've gotten petite sizes it hasn't worked. The jacket does look really nice. Echoing Suz, where does it hit?

I would be interested to see different size too and photo with your hands down - I am not sure whether the sleeves are a bit long.

Tara, I had another thought. I noticed that the sleeves on this jacket are basic: none of those typical zippers or other embellishments. If you wanted, you could try out a non-petite sized jacket to see if the waist fit is better. And if it were, then consider altering these sleeves, which would be an added cost, of course, but relatively straightforward. And maybe worthwhile to you, since this beautiful jacket is clearly an investment piece.

Tara, for reference, when I wear petite jackets (and I often do, because I am short waisted) I generally go for a 4 P. My shoulders are 38.5 or 39 inches around. So for me this is sizing up from regular sizes to get the shoulder fit.

Interesting about fit. Suz, I'm the same - one size up from regular in petite to get the better fit in jackets and tops.

It doesn't look odd at all to me, it looks stylish! Fitting the arms and shoulders is very important. This looks good on you.

Looks nice!! The waist is kinda high, but it looks to me like it is supposed to fit like that. I'd wear it.
