We had several forum members join in on a thread about personal September challenges-- technically I think the halfway point for the month is tomorrow, but I thought we could check in.
What was your challenge and how has your progress gone so far?
My first goal was to stop shopping in Sept. I gave myself 2 caveats: my birthday money, and a few warm weather sale pieces if I landed the AZ job. I still haven't seen any of the pieces, but the 4 pieces (3 inexpensive accessories and a pair of pants) I bought with my birthday money should be coming this week. I also purchased 2 lightweight bottoms and a pair of sandals to expand my warm weather capsules. Not perfect, but I've staved off the desire to shop for my new climate AND fall weather before I know what it'll be like.
My second was to evaluate potential Fall holes. Since I got the job, this was harder than I thought. I won't be shopping until the weather turns down there, but luckily I will have access to better retail. I do know that I need to replace my bootcut jeans this winter, fill a non-bootie shoe hole, fill a dress shoe hole, and replace several tops (5 tees, 2 flannels, 1 blouse, 1 or 2 sweatshirts). I know that I want a pair of cognac shoes and a tunic, a black or navy jacket plus some orange. I'm more interested in accessories than I have been in years and want to add an indoor scarf. I'm getting there.
My third goal was to post at least one outfit photo a week. I didn't post last week, but otherwise was doing well. Now to post TWICE this week.
The fourth goal wasn't fashion related. It was to stay focused on my current contract, job hunt, and health. I've been able to keep my head above water on the first two, but the increasing stress from the end of one contract, a new job, and a quick move are adding up!
