I don't know....I'd proceed with *extreme caution* when it comes to tattooing your face. The one example I know in real life -- a friend of my mother-in-law's -- had her eyebrows done and she looked like a clown. I admit that the tattoo artist matters a great deal, and possibly a different artist would have done a far better job. But I have a 20-year-old tat (not on my face) that has sure faded and fuzzed out a lot over time. It's in an area that almost never sees the sun. I think the ink just gradually seeps through the bottom layer of your skin. So even if your tattooed-on makeup looks fab at first, it may change colour, fade or migrate over time in an unpredictable way.
Now, having said that -- Marley, I bet yours looks great, because a trained artist with a light touch can do it well. And I totally understand why you'd want to skip the hassle of makeup -- especially the lips, because lip colour fades with age, and along with the slight lip deflation that's in store for all of us, many of us would like the extra oomph of tattooed-on colour. I'm not forty yet and I feel that I need a bit of lipstick every day! And I have to re-apply it many times....sometimes I wonder how much lipstick ends up in my stomach over the course of a year....urgh
