Well, most of the denim skirts that were so big last year were essentially maxi pencil skirts with slits. Not classic pencil style (knee length or just below) I know...but I get the feeling that what goes around comes around, and just as slim straight and cigarette trousers are a fringe trend, pencil skirts and tube skirts may be on their way back, too.
Shopbop has a page of them: https://www.shopbop.com/skirts...../13309.htm
Nordstrom has a bunch, too, although some of them don't like like what I think of as a pencil skirt. Still, they are relatively narrow. https://www.nordstrom.com/sr?o.....yle=pencil
I like pencil skirts. And tube skirts. I admit, I probably wouldn't buy one that wasn't made of some kind of knit fabric now, though -- simply because of my work from home lifestyle. They are not the easiest to walk in unless they are stretchy. And in summer they are not as cool as a looser cut skirt.
I definitely think you can keep your eyes open for a good one on consignment. I got a great suede pencil skirt years ago that way.
