Peep-toes in winter

I've got an excuse to dress up, and the only heels I've got are patent leather peep-toes.

It's these guys - although in a slightly lower height: http://www.colehaan.com/coleha.....oup=314557

I'm wearing 'em with a black dress with small white polka-dots.

The question - how do I make this work? I've got the following options:

* sheer black stockings
* black tights
* high-contrast tights (purple or mustard yellow)
* small-weave black fishnets (which look incredibly sexy but have the same issue as bare legs)
* bare legs (it *is* Los Angeles, but I'd rather not - I get cold VERY easily and it's been in the 40s-50s at night)

The goal is to make my legs look as long as possible, but the black tights don't look quite right to me.

Thoughts?

Personally I would go for either bare legs or opaque tights (any color you like). I have a very poisoned eye for seeing visible toes through sheer stockings; I think it reminds me of webbed feet.

I've not tried the toeless stockings yet, but they might be the answer if very sheer to look nude or if you can find them in a fishnet.

I've got a slightly crazy thought - see 1st photo.

The dress is actually above the knee, but this is kind of fun. Maybe too much? (The flats I'm bringing to walk around in are red...) It's a hot date, for what it's worth.

It's odd, but the black opaque tights look frumpier even than the sheer ones to my eye.

I have a poisoned eye for peep-toes and stockings together. If no other options are available, I would go for opaque tights, like Diana said.

I prefer the look of the opaque tights. The black ones blend so well with the shoe that it's difficult to tell it's a peep-toe.

Thanks for posting this question because I've been wondering how to wear a pair of fab peep-toe wedges I purchased recently.

I think the opaque tights are a little too costume-y or cutesy "vintage" with the polka dot dress - and I normally like them. The mustard sounded like a possibility but in that photo, at least, are looking more like an oddly off nude.
I like the fishnet over nude suggestion! Next choice would be the sheer black.
