Paul Green shoes - thoughts?

I've been wearing these around the house for a while today and they are indeed very comfortable. Not the most flattering look, I'm sure, but I think they have a geek chic thing that appeals to me. I kind of love them because they're different from the usual booties/loafers/sneakers/flats. These are just quick photos with skinnies rolled and unrolled.

What do you think? Thoughts on styling?

I kind of love them, too. I had a pair of shoes sort of like this in the 90s I think. Not the same quality, however.

I honestly have no idea about how to style them. I like them with the rolled jeans for starters. Are they comfy enough to take on the trip?

I like them with the roll. Unrolled, not so much - they kinda lean orthopedic to me, rather than intentionally geek chic. Do they work with skirts?

Unlikely I'd wear them with skirts -- a little too clunky for me that way, although I'd try it just to be sure.

I'm thinking these could be fun with my Jolt plaid skinnies and the Kut ponte plaid pants too. Play up the punk/creeper aspect so they don't skew comfort/geriatric. Perhaps boyfriend jeans?

I've just been trying them on with my black moto pants (rolled to show ankle), which are a travel staple. I could see taking these on the trip...

I like them and they have a great sole with a good grip. I think they are mostly for pants but maybe you will prove otherwise. I think they look nice on you and you will be comfortable in them.
I also tried them but they were a little narrow and the fabric is not stretchy like leather so they did not work for me.
I got the oxfords which are similar although not as nice but they are patent and suede and will be good for Winter. They will not be a fashion item but they will be useful.
I will be checking your thread to see how else to style them.
ETA: I think they look great with your motos rolled up.

The style is definitely a little different but they look completely natural on you, and they look comfortable and well made.
I'm finding that as I get older the classic or traditional styles that I've loved so well in the past can look a little bland without some kind of twist.

Really like them with the rolled-up pants and think they'd be great with the plaid pants. They look incredibly comfortable too!

The detailing makes them look special to me and I love the color. I love them and they look great with your black moto pants. They look like they would be a wonderful travel shoe including on the plane.

I think they are very chic. I love them on you. I prefer them with the unrolled pants, and no visible socks, for a kind of subtly edgy classic look. It just screams good taste without being showy. I wish I could wear shoes like these.

Thanks, everybody! I'm glad you all see in them what I do.

I would recommend these to anyone with a slightly narrow or low-volume foot. Theyre cushiony and seem really comfortable for walking. I like the chunkier pointy toe twist on a classic loafer style, and the neoprene-ish material gives them a little sporty luxe vibe. Right up my alley.

I don't know what I'll do when sporty luxe goes out of fashion -- I love it!

I also wore similar in the 90's but these look modern with the toe shape. I love them and think they are perfect as you have styled them. Janet I would keep them:). I think they could potentially be worn with skirts

I like them on you, too. Geek chic is a good term for them, and you wear it well. I especially like them with the rolled pants, showing a bit of ankle.

Janet, hopefully sporty luxe is here to stay because you do it so well! I like the details on the shoes, the toe shape, the heel, the sole, etc. It's a well designed shoe with some subtle elements that pull it away from looking orthopedic or frumpy.

I really like them on you with the rolled hem. The look loses its edge when the pants are full length. Could see this as a fun travel look or for those days when you are doing a lot of walking.

Re: the sporty luxe thing, it's so interesting to me that it suits me well. I never ever related to anything "athletic" in my life until the last few years, and even then, it's still hard to accept the word "athlete" applied to myself (yes, even several half marathons, a century, and a 500-mile bike ride later!). Even though I am very active, I don't look much like an athlete -- I remain curvy and never attain that lean athletic build. So one would think that dressing in a sporty style might clash with my body type. However, it seems to work for me, happily, because I like the slightly tomboyish vibe. Maybe the contrast with my very girly body is what makes it work!

As long as you wear dark bottoms rolled at the hems, you are good to go with these loafers. Love them, Janet.

I do like them with the shorter pants length, and the chambray shirt look is great!
One thing I see is that the slightly chunky shoe may work for you with slim pants same as what I've experienced, that too-dainty shoes look wrong with my proportions if I'm wearing tapered or narrow pants at the calf. Don't want Frankenshoes, but just a bit of substance.
