My 26 year old son discovered the bow tie a couple of years back and likes to wear them to 'occasions' because they're fairly uncommon around here. He wanted a new one for this year's work party, so I offered to make it. I found some fabric to go with this prom vest I also made for him a few years ago. Not terribly impressive to you sewists on the forum, but I'm tickled with how they turned out!
