Hi Ladies,

Just trying out a couple of styling options for my patterned pants which recently received YLF approval.

#1.
Worn with Shooties and sleeveless trench.

#2
Cotton shirt with ruffle and suede bootie/sandals

#3
Original outfit I posted when I first bought the pants

Love to know what you think re 1 and 2. Do they work? I wouldn't mind injecting some color also.

I think the sleeveless trench adds a more unexpected touch than the other sleeveless top. I'm not sure about the shoes, but I don't know if that is just because they aren't really my style.

I still like #3 but #1 looks interesting too. I am not smitten with #2 though: somehow the length and shape of the top does not play well with these pants.
Have you tried to tuck in: looks like these pants fit loosely in the hips so tuck in may work...

I like the tops in one and three and also the heels. A pair of red espadrilles would be cute, too!

I really like #3. I think maybe these pants need heels or tucking or both, because there's so much volume. How do they look with more open sandals? Or a different color?

I think the sleeveless trench (which I love as a piece) is two long for the pants in #1.

#2 I like, and I think the proportions are better

#3 I find difficult, because I don't really like the placing of the curved hem, but this might just be a late adopter problem on my part - I know lots liked it in your earlier thread

I love #3 and #1, especially #3, which I adore.

Something's off for me in #2---could be the looseness of the blouse with the loose pants, could be the shoes (too much going on in the bottom of the outfit....)

3's my favourite --- you look fabulous there, so sophisticated --- but I like the grit of 1 as well, with that awesome trench. 2, I think, might need to have the top tucked in and maybe a wide belt (black, white or coloured?) added --- something about the proportions is not quite there yet.

1 and 3! Those are awesome. I think the blouse in 2 ends at your widest part--I think it needs to be shorter or longer. These make you look cool as a cucumber, Deborah!

1 and 3 look very sleek and sophisticated. The proportions of #2 seem rather too much volume on top of volume.

1 and 3 are my faves--these both look amazing! I think with 2, since you don't have any waist definition going on (like with 1 and 3) you would especially want heels, if that makes sense?

I love that sleeveless trench, but think it looks a bit heavy over these pants, kind of overwhelming. I am not crazy about top 2, as it doesn't seem (in this photo anyway) to flatter your figure. Number 3 is the best outfit, hands down, IMO. Stylish, sophisticated, flattering, what more could you ask for?

Here are my votes..

No (trench is too much fabric with the volume of pant silhouette)
No (proportion is not flattering and you have a great figure!)
YES (can't see this outfit as well as the others but the proportions look better.)

A pant with that much volume needs some more height I think...a sleeveless turtle neck in black (or a bright pop of color) would be great---if you can lengthen the silhouette a bit more, it will be fab!

I'm liking #3 exceptionally well -- makes me want a pair! #1 is next in my book -- really like the trench. #2 isn't as sharp to my eye -- I don't dislike it, but I agree with Sveta that the proportions are quite as pleasing to me.

I like #3 the best. Love it!!

On #1, I really like the belted silhouette with the pants, but I feel like the trench has too much going on, so that the pants strike me almost as an afterthought. I think a similar length belted top that is single- rather than double-breasted or minus the epaulettes or pockets, maybe, would work better. Or I could see a topper that length worn open, with a tank underneath--though not sure this is the one to do that with.

On #2, I like the idea of a simpler top like this over the pants, but I agree with others that this one is a little too loose, not waist-defining enough, to be just right.

I like both pairs of shoes with the pants--I think the pants work nicely with the heels or flats, and I like the edgy looks of these.

What about a denim-y or cobalt blue top with the pants?

I adore #1and #3. Both look really sophisticated and interesting to my eye.
I agree with kellygirl and Jonesy about #2 - the top ends at the wrong spot, and without any waist definition it reads as "blocky". I think the suggestions of tucking and wearing heels would be a good start if you wanted to restyle it.
But seriously, why would you bother when you look so amazing in the other two tops!
