Stripes with pattern mixing for good measure. The "stripes" on the handknit top in the second outfit are made from different types of stitches.

(And yeah those are polka dots in the second outfit. I know I said last week I didn't have many but I forgot about this tank so I figured I'd wear it today with my stripes.)

I knew stripes would get a lot of love!! I find it interesting how people wear them in different ways. It is great to see the individuality come through.

Brooklyn - I was hoping you would join in here!! These are all terrific but 4 is knocking it out of the park. And of course I forgot my Bailey 44 dress - have added the pic below which is the last time I wore it (Feb 2016). And I forgot my summer chevron tunic too...

Staysfit - you obviously have caution around stripes and it sounds like passing on the new shirt is wise. I always think you suit abstract/subtle patterns brilliantly.

BC - I love your new watermelon red top - it is stunning. I also like the work appropriate blazer, I can see that with white jeans and your new red sandals:)

TexStyle, I like your stripes too. I like the lightweight shirt in particular. I think stripes do lean to the sporty side, it is great to see the different flavours they can have.

Joy - I love these stripes, like JAileen's ombre stripes they are very modern. This is such a great top on you.

Skylurker - stripes are perfect for your style. I also love the top in three and the pattern here. You wear these traditional patterns (spots and stripes) in such a modern way. Re my jacket, it was a gift from a friend and as you can find with gifts sometimes, they are not exactly what you would choose yourself. But I am reluctant to hand it on because it was very kind of her, it is useful, and it is a useful piece.

Barbara Diane - those are fun shoes. I think they would be so great with jeans.

Sara - I hoped you would show us your hot summer stripes and chevrons. These are all really good on you but my pics are 1 and 4 (I want 4 for my summer).

The Cat - this is an elegant at home look. Stripes and stars - I really like this combination on you and I also like those white wide legged trousers.

Astrid, this photo came out well. Stripes suit you really well. I also overdosed a couple of years back and am just coming back to them again. I would love this whole outfit - it would suit our spring and autumn weather very well.

Thanks for chiming in to everyone.

My Bailey 44 dress (I need to find occasions to wear this more) and my chevron tunic. Both these pieces are still in my wardrobe (but the red jacket and ankle boots are not)

Sorry a couple more to respond to in cross posting.

Fashiontern - I like the top and pants together here and I think the shoes work too. I find fussy jewelry and bags irritating too, I don't know that you need much jewelry with this look, the pants, shoes and bag are interesting as it is.

Diana - I love your stripes, they are interesting and fresh. Haha it is easy to forget some pieces isn't it. The spots look great under the knit.

Sally: Wow, you look smashing in that Bailey 44 dress! You definitely need to wear it more often!

Sal, those are both great. You look awesome in them!

Thanks for the pointer about less jewelry. I'm so new to the idea of mixing, even this subtle combo is adventuresome. (Hilarious compared to your dress and tunic here, I know). Brooklyn's classy black and white pattern mixing put the idea in my head.I went back and added photos of the top and pants individually, because they're kind of hard to see in the selfie.

I had no idea how many striped things I have, especially if cable knit sweater count! But seeing as others grouped all theirs into one post, I won't add another (although I may go back and one more photo to my last post).

WOOHOOO. I LOVE stripes.

Here are my faves from each of you:

Sal, #3. Classic and effective. (The striped frocks you posted later are smashing. Nice bandage dress).

Jenn, #2. Casual Fabness. Flattering.

kkards, #7. The pink stripe looks fresh, but it was hard to pick a fave. Amazing striped outfits.

Sterling, I like the pullover in #1.

Joy, #1 in your SECOND batch. Amazing with the arm candy.

JAileen, #9. It’s the prettiest.

Sharan, gorgeous frock.

Fashiontern, I like the ‘80s vibe of your vertical candy stripes.

Brooklyn, #1. That top is Killer Sensational.

BC, how fun are those blazers.

Tex, the stripes look very YOU.

Isabelle, you do a Breton stripe with the best of them. A wardrobe essential for your style.

Barbara Diane, super cute Vans.

Sara, #1. Fab Utility Chevron.

The Cat, the grey stripes are lovely with your silver hair.

Astrid, a very YOU look. Fab culottes.

Diana, #1. Striped Floral Fabness.

Today's stripes Sally. I jumped the gun and included some floral too
The Bailey dress is fab on you. Angular stripes are so flattering.
This thread is making me think I really want to do a stripe pattern mix - with 2 or more different types of stripes. Or chevron and stripes. What fun.

Sara : #1, I can't resist black&white graphic patterns
Astrid : so nice to see you, burgundy looks great on you
Diana : #1, stripes with flowers
Fashiontern : the pink shirt looks good
Brooklyn : that skirt looks even better up close (and I see now what you mean by "soft" cuffs, the concept eluded me when seen from afar
The Cat : love the mix of mint and grey on you

Sal : great dresses. How would you style the second one now? It looks like a Summer dress, to be worn alone, with sandals?

Decided to be Team Wear today as it will only be 62 or so degrees when I am in San Francisco this a. m. This is my dress from NAS. I am not wearing my preferred heels (see last pic) but I will be walking at least four blocks at a time and those while comfy don't go that distance.

A very quick look at today's casual stripes with no shoes, no makeup and bed head. Top is a VC cold shoulder from a couple of years ago. Close up of added pearls made by me.
47th anniversary today. Nice dinner tonight after a day with DGS.

Donna, your dress is fab and just the right length. Have some crab cocktail for me

This particular post was very inspiring. Regardless of the fact that I don't own as many stripes as I thought, I really do love them. I think I am going to make a point to be on the look-out for them going forward.

I am also seeing new ways of using stripes. Geometrics are rare in my wardrobe. Brooklyn, you look amazing and your outfits are so pleasing.

Donna, that dress looks great on you. I'd forgotten all about warming up a dress--here, it is too hot to wear a dress like that for a couple more months.

Brooklyn, I love stripes and floral together and this is a super look.

Donna - what a stunning new dress and I like all your stylings.

Joy - your husband is a lucky man and congratulations on the anniversary. You look wonderful in the stripes.

Thanks for the support - Angie, Skylurker, Fashiontern. I agree it is inspiring to see new ways to wear stripes.

Feel free to keep adding stripey, geometric or chevron looks and I will start the Plaid thread tomorrow.

I am the queen of stripes. Well MsMary probably has me beat... I had dreams of photographing all my stripey items grouped by type. But with 4 overnight shifts in the past 6 days I haven't even snapped the stripes I've been wearing! So I'll have to settle for a narrative list illustrated with some outfits from my archives.

Breton stripes: 1 sleeveless, 7 short sleeved, and 4 long sleeved tops (only some are visible in this pic of my Kondo'd drawers). Plus a cardigan, sweater dress, maxi skirt, and a tube skirt that's more of a rugby stripe.

Winter horizontal stripes: one turtleneck and two sweater vests in grey with white or black.

True pinstripes: these are mostly fall and winter wear, except for the navy chinos in pic 6. There are at least 4 pairs of pinstriped pants in black and something; also a grey with white pinstripe tunic and skirt.

Then there are what I think of as pinstriped shirts, although many of them are more of a Bengal stripe (narrow stripes of equal width white and blue ). I counted 7 shirts this morning. Also shirtdress (pic 7), shorts, and seersucker pants. (All of these get plenty of wear, avoiding laundry bottlenecks. I got rid of the red white blue and yellow shirt because it was too loud.)

Uncounted: striped purses. One true purse; at least 10 tote bags with different roles.

Also striped socks; at least 5 pairs. I don't look at my socks in summer. (Pic 8 is not very flattering but has striped shirt AND socks.)

I am all about scarves but only one has stripes, also dots AND animal print, so saving it for that thread.

Well I have quite a lot. Will first just post the chevron(?) Sabatini jacket I am wearing today in close-up, and also when I wore it to Conference recently. It is wool, so soft and warm.

Just adding before bed my fave short black and white swing coat, like tiny wee chevrons. It is actually only 15% wool 85% polyester when I check the label- but I did get it on sale at Glassons for $60 in 2011 and have worn over 30 times- under $2 a wear!

L'abeille : I love, love #2, I think it's my favourite outfit on you ever.
Jenni, I remember the conference outfits, looking cute in your beanie
Donna : great dress
Joy : you were ahead of the game, buying cold shoulders a couple years back. I want to semi tuck the top but I always want to tweak something in wide cropped outfits, so : disregard my opinion

I wear my navy moto with stripes today

Skylurker, I did end up semi-tucking the top, but did not get a photo. Good call. It looked and felt better that way. The navy moto is wonderful with the crops and white shirt.
Jenni, the Sabatini jacket and your coat are fab.
L'Abeille, I also like #2 best and envy your neat drawers.
Here is a quick look at my stripes today, pattern mixing with floral cardigan. The stripes and pants (EF from 30X30 challenge) are navy. I am wearing s navy tank under the striped shirt. The shirt can act as a light jacket as it warms up today.

I want to play! But I don't have the time for a WIW at the moment. Here are some of my stripes from finds: I also have two more Joie sweaters--one charcoal and black and one charcoal and metallic/silver. And I have multiples of the Breton tees. Stripes are the only pattern I feel comfortable wearing.

L'Abeille, what a stunning stripe collection and your drawers look so tidy. I used the kondo system on my husband's tee shirt drawer and my sons too - I have very deep drawers that are not very wide so it is not ideal for my clothes sadly,,but I could try. I especially like 2 4 and 5!!

Jenni - you look great in the chevrons. I also have had some Glassons pieces that have worn and worn and worn (Glassons is a fairly cheap retailer here, trendy but not only for the very young).

Skylurker - this is a lovely subtle striped look.

Joy - you keep pulling out great looks....you have such a good eye.

Emily - that is a good collection of stripes. I really like the two breton tops and of course Adidas are one of the classic stripes:) I would have said that stripes were my favourite but I actually have more spots right now. Plaid and animal print are poorly represented (I do have them both) and florals and abstract somewhere in the middle. I am a print lover though - but I do try and hold myself back because pre YLF I had so many wonderful prints but no outfits to wear.

I will start the plaid thread later today.

Angie and skylurker, thanks.

Sal, thank you for your kind comments to everybody., and for these fun and inspiring pattern challenges.

Just realized that if stars are seen as geometrics, I actually have 3 more items in this category: 1 scarf and 2 thin shawls. One of the shawls is shown over, together with a striped singlet.

I forgot about chevron scarves! I might have...er...a few. I wore one today.
Jenni, me likey your chevron jacket. Very muchly

Thanks Brooklyn, I'm wearing it right now for the third day in a row. Up to 18 wears with thrashing it recently. Liking it more and more

Brooklyn, the chevron scarf is beautiful.
I know other pattern challenges are going on now, but today I ended up in stripes. EF grey linen skirt, thrifted striped tee. I later changed to red flats and added a red cardigan, but kept the silver bag.

Brooklyn the scarf is lovely and you look terrific in blue.

Joy that is a nice mid summer look, the shine of the pewter is very effective. Keep wearing stripes if you like:)

Waiting for paisley...
